Have you ever played an entire Zelda game?
I'm not saying its wrong to not like Zelda games (you can not like anything you want), but if you haven't given it a chance, then your just being ignorant. (I haven't said you haven't given it a chance, but assuming you've never played one through, your ignorant).
I used to think the Zelda series sucked. Why did I think that? Cause I never gave it a chance. I was ignorant. I got Ocarina of Time at launch day, brought it home (thinking it would be the best game I've ever played) and hated it because I couldn't go anywhere.
6 years later, I thought "alright, its supposedly one of the best games ever made, it has to be good." I gave it a chance, and it blew me away.
Now, I'm on a mission to beat ever game in the series. I'm currently working on the Gameboy titles now :D

Would you like paint a target on your chest while you're at it? LOL

If you don't like Zelda then that's fine by me. I personally am not the biggest fan of Zelda, but i do enjoy the series and i am really looking forward to the new game because it's a different style of Link. He's older, he's a farm hand. He rides and fights like you wouldn't beleive. The thing that really hooked me on The Twilight Princess is the 30 min preview IGN had during E3. The game looks to have solid gameplay, beautiful graphics and i'm sure it will be fun to play.

If you haven't seen that vid and you have the chance i'd recomend you watch it. It gives a good idea of the final product and it might change your mind. Or at least make you appreciate why it's getting all this attention.

I love the series, minus Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask. Wind Waker is by far the lowest point of the series, and no not for the graphics - the graphics were amazing. There was just very little GAME - sailing to the middle of nowhere to dredge up treasure from map piece xx was just irritating near the end.

Honestly, original poster - the series deserves all the hype it gets. I can't wait to see Twilight Princess on my own screen; hopefully I'll finally get personal fulfillment from a game in the series to topple "A Link to the Past".

I've never really liked the Zelda games all that much either. I did play through the first one, but that was because it was unique for the time.

I guess it's because I don't like the gameworld or the cartoony graphics... though I will admit the footage of the new game looks pretty impressive.

I like bananas, but they make my tummy hurt so I don't eat them often.

I don't care for Zelda either, but I don't piss on anyone's parade who likes it. I do get tired of hearing about it all the time, but I could say the same for other hyped to the hills games I don't care for, such as Final Fantasy and Metal Gear. Live and let live, says I.

Back to bananas, I sometimes wonder if I should see a doctor about my incompatability with that particular fruit. Bananas are yummy, but I don't understand why they have to be so evil to my system.

And I know how to link bananas to this thread: I have a Donkey Kong vintage sticker that says "Goin' Bananas"... and both Donkey Kong and Legend of Zelda were created by Shigeru Miyamoto.

Well, the person DID ask what people thought about their "Zelda hating". They even figured they would get flak for their posted opinion, especially since the original poster didn't explain *why* they don't like the Zelda series. This would be no different if I said "I hate the Packers" to a group of people in Green Bay. If the person expected fire, they probably don't need finger wagglers to tell others that "they're not nice".

Now if the original poster added some meat to their post and explained the hatred, that'd be a different story. Right now the post just sounds like a kid that doesn't like broccoli "just because".

From the age of 4 up I grew up playing every new zelda title as they were released. I loved Legend of Zelda, even at the age of 4 I could beat it every day if I wanted. I could always remember all the secrets and every tree that I could burn. Zelda II was alot different, it was a little more confusing but it was still very fun. I enjoyed exploring the world map and finding secrets. A Link to the Past blew me away it was one of the best games I had ever played when it came out, I also loved the music. Link's Awakening was really fun too but I let someone borrow it and never saw it again. Ocarina of Time was very enjoyable although I didn't get into it so deeply. OOT was the last Zelda game I owned/played.

Back to bananas, I sometimes wonder if I should see a doctor about my incompatability with that particular fruit. Bananas are yummy, but I don't understand why they have to be so evil to my system.

As far as I see it, the good things about bananas are the fact that the come in a compact package, the fact that monkeys like to eat them and the fact that they are the source of endless cartoon mayhem, as people drop banana peels and then slip on them.

Speaking of which, have you ever tried to slip on a dropped banana peel? They really aren't that slippery at all. I think that's why live-action movies usually use marbles.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand...

The things that suck about bananas is that they have a very strong odor, and if you don't like that odor, the otehr people can't eat bananas. I mean, that's the problem at my house. I'll open up a banana to make a smoothie, and my wife will complain because the banana is making her tummy hurt. It's a serious problem, and one that deprives me of bananas altogether too often.

Right now the post just sounds like a kid that doesn't like broccoli "just because".

Does anyone really need to spell out why they don't like broccoli? I mean, come on... it's broccoli!

Have you ever put some of that popcorn salt that taste like cheese on broccoli? it's the best damn thing you'll ever have the pleasure of putting in your mouth. I like George Formanizing some broccoli to go along with a little bit of shredded chicken...Mmmmm...that's good vittles, I'll tell you what. Then after that you can put a cup of milk, a dab of vannila and a banana in a blender to make a little health drink. It's much better than those 'slimfast' drinks, and it's healthier too! Tossing an orange in there can be good too, but take of the peel first. It seems obvious to me, but some people leave the peel on. It's terrible though, it's gritty and sour. Yuck.

With cheese...thats another story!

Broccoli without cheese is like Cheech without Chong, Jay without Silent Bob, Michael Knight without KITT.

You get the idea.

I rather enjoy the part of Zelda where you have an overall goal (save Zelda) but before you can do that you have to meet smaller goals (find running boots or something).

i didn't think it was worth all the fuss

now the other sequals are another story - even though i still don't think they deserve the hype they get -- mabey the N64 ones - i havent played them but they do look promsing

i have recently finished collecting all the zelda games and will soon know if im right or not about the rest -- since ive only played 1and 2 (and played the rest only for like 30 min)

I don't know. Personally, I hate, and I mean HATE peas. I always have. My parents used to force me to eat them. I hated them. Every once in a while, I'll still have a couple which do nothing but remind me how much I hated them to begin with.

I also hate nuts. And a variety of sweet foods. And any melon that isn't a watermelon. I think it's just that there is such a variety of fruits and vegetables that you're bound to not like at least one.

I really do and always have loved both broccoli and califlower (um... yeah, so I can't spell it, but I can EAT it!). I guess that makes up for my hatred of peas, which no one I know seems to believe that anyone can hate peas so much.

so you have no idea why you hate the peas? -- i can't think of any vegetable that i dont like -- or anyone in my family -- i can't recall any childhood memories of any of my sibblings saying "aww man we have beets, or brocolli, or turnips"

i my self wonder about this sometime - in regards to rasing children. I sometimes ask people what happend in thier childhood that made them dislike something and most can't answer. I think sometimes that mabey thier parents alowed them to eat cake or candy for dinner when they were babies and therefore as children they longed for the"snack" rather than the vegetable

--- OH WAIT -- there is a member of my family that "hates something" my sister hates anything to do with oranges -- she thinks it could be atributed to the time when she was a child and she drank some old rotten orange juice and vomited.

so im guessing hatred of vegetables has to be related to something like this

like i am afraid of heights - when i was a kid - i used to play as spider man , the fall guy, bionic man and then one day i realized i was afraid of hights - i can only think that i once fell from a hieght and got hurt.

so i must be something like that with food.

Mabey as a baby your parent fed you peas and you had a bad vomit experience

No. I don't think there is any reason I hate peas. I just do.

I actually also hate broccoli and califlower (sp?) cold, while I love them baked and always have. I kept getting tricked seeing those out as a kid, and then biting into them and not liking them at all. No idea why.

I know that I hate licorice (sp? again... damn oddly spelled foods...) because of when I was younger and I ate a 3 lb "Belly Buster" bag of red licorice all at once during a Bucks game. That night, I vomited it all up, and the bathroom stunk like licorice for weeks.

I can attribute probably 1/5th of the things that I really hate to things that happened to me. Like ants, which freak me out because we had these HUGE carpenter ants that lived in the walls of our house for a while, and they would sneak in at night and wake me up by crawling over my body -- including up my nose and into my mouth. So I'm not a fan of "wild" ants, although I think they're fascinating in ant farms.

I don't think you necessarily have to have anything tramatic happen to you for you to not like something. I mean, the person that started this thread hates Zelda, but I don't think it is because of some childhood tramua where he ate too much Zelda cereal (remember that stuff?!) and vomited. I think sometimes, you just don't like certain things because of how everyone is a little different.

I'm also horribly lactose intolerant for a white male (it's very unusual in this particular group, while much more common in Asians and blacks). I can't eat a bit of dairy without being sent to the bathroom. This just seems to be because I'm a "little different."

I'm really glad other people hate peas. I always thought I as alone in that.

Oh yeah, sorta back on topic, I was thinking about busting out Wind Waker and playing through it when I finished Paper Mario 2. Is it a worthwhile play if played without any sound?

Are you just lactose intolerant or is there a possibility you might have irritable bowel syndrome?

Link's Awakening is better, in my opinion. In fact, it's one of the best in the series, and the ONLY one I've ever beat start to finish without a strategy guide or outside help!

no one I know seems to believe that anyone can hate peas so much.
Ooooh, I can't STAND peas. When I was younger, I'd throw my peas under the table, you know how little kids do so their dog can eat the food they don't like? Problem was.. we didn't have a dog. LOL

One day Mother dearest discovered the reason behind the smell under the dinner table.. lots of smacking and crying ensued, I'm sure, but I've blocked that part out of my memory.

In short, peas are bad!

I always loved the Zeldas up to Link to the Past and the gameboy ones. I was never really able to get into the N64 games (though I can't put my finger on why...) and the same went with Windwaker. I'll have to give them another crack sometime, since they're so widely-loved.

Try StarTropics, or Elemential Gimmick Gear.

Ah nothing like a game where they actually put GIMMICK in the title.

Have you tried it? I rather enjoyed it.
