This turned up in the news a while ago, but we can still discuss Konami's recent unveiling of Gradius V.

Anyone have flashbacks of Radiant Silvergun? There's a reason for that. Treasure is programming the game.

And just like that, I'm interested. I enjoy the Gradius series about as much as I enjoy Dino-Riki, but Treasure's past skill with shooters has me hoping that this one hits the states.

In other sightings of the endangered shooter species, Dodonpachi Dai Oujou comes to the PS2 this April 10. A preview movie is available here (http://homepage2.nifty.com/arika_download/mpeg/ddd001.mpg). Ah, a screen-choking excess of pastel-colored bullets. That's art.

Brings a tear to my eye. Kid, you've made my day. I was gonna sell my PS2 this week, as I got tired of having it sit there, alone and unused, devoid of more than a handful of shooters and fighting games. Fuggin Treasure, yo! YEAAAAAHHHHHH Gradius looks like its shaping up.

I think that the April 10 date is for JP release, right? The U.S. release date is probably scheduled for the week after hell freezes.

Yeah, that's only the Japanese release date for the new DoDonpachi, I'm afraid. It'll probably never show up here, but we can send a few letters to Agetec, or maybe even Atlus.

*sniff* You got my hopes all up too....already knew about the Japanese release but I'd thought it was already out. Ah well. I sure as hell still love a good shooter, espeically after Treasure and Capcom have shown us what can still be done with games like Ikaruga and Mars Matrix! :D
