I rarely see posts about this game, so I figured it should receive some dues.

I first heard about this game from a member here. They said great things about it. I have been always keeping my eye out for it, for about a year or so. I finally got a copy, from a local game store, for 15.00 CAD , with the strategy guide.

Like my subject says, "what a game". By far the most I have had with a platformer for years. This title is under rated in every way. The gamefaqs reviews barely exist, and the Ebay prices are very low. You can probably score a copy for about 15 bucks including shipping!

I have most new gen platformers, such as SM:Sunshine and Vexx, and obviously ones such as Jak and Daxter.

This games stands above them all. If you even REMOTELY like platformers, you should try this game.

It is sorf of a 2d-3d platformer. You perceive the worlds with a 3d depth, but you are actually side scrolling most of the time. There are some levels with a 3d snowboarding type effect.

Probably the best part of the game are the puzzles. Most are simple, but interact with both the fore, and background. Not a lot of puzzle repitition, but variables on what you learn early in the game.

The control is absolutely perfect. If you Fuck up, you pay for it, but always understand WHY. Most platformers have a frustration level, this one does not.

Great story as well. I was actually interested in what was going to happen next. Usually I'm just priming my fingers for the next test.

Great game... And cheap... Just somewhat tough to find.
8 out of 10.

For reference to my rating. I give these others:

1. Super Mario world 7 out of 10
2. Vexx 6 out of ten
3. SM 64 8 out of ten
4. SM 1,2,3 collectively 9 out of ten

Klonoa is commenly refered to as a 2.5 D game (as are the PS1 crash bandicoot games) in that its a 3d game and world, but you move on a 'rail', thus only being 2d. So, yeah.

Awesome game, it and the first one. First one is pretty hard to find, but I got it. And for 8 bucks.

Yes it is.

One of the few games on the system that I really like.

I had read sometime ago in a magazine that the first Klonoa was a great game, I then set out to find it. I've lost a half dozen auctions for it on ebay. The last one sold for $40 + shipping, which is more than twice what you can get the second one for.

Also, I have issues playing games oput of order, so even though I have the second I have to sit on it until I am willing to splurge on the second...

Your review may motivate me to spend the loot...though I'm still stalking a copy of Valkyrie Profile...

Indeed it is. Probably one of the first real gems actually worth owning when the PS2 first came out.

Glad to see you've joined the club DA! K2 reminds me of the best parts of the Sonic Adventure series. It's such a great game and one of the better titles for PS2.

When this first came out I was excited to play it. I flipped on the PS2/tv, closed the door, and put on my best set of headphones while playing this (straight until completion). One of my favorite games, I must say. :)

While I view Klonoa 2 as a very good game is it vastly inferior to the original. Of course the original is in my "Top 5 Games Evar" so it'd be hard to top.

I haven't played the first one, but I have Klonoa 2, and I LOVE it. :) It's so cute, I love the language in the game, the graphics are so pretty and the music is really great. It's a real "zone" game. You can get home from having a shitty day at work, turn Klonoa on and zone out. Shame it's so damn expensive over here.

Is the volleyball Klonoa any good, out of interest? I've seen it around a fair bit.

I fell in love with the first klonoa when I played a demo of it, so I payed $40 for it on ebay and totaly loved it!
I got klonoa 2 on launch day and it as well was just as awsome.

The characters, graphics, and puzzles that are challenging but also FUN make up one hell of a game.

The music is also catchy and fits the theme of the game well.

Klonoa 2 sits in at one of my top 10 games of all time, with klonoa 1 in the top 15.

Indeed the first Kolona is a master piece, a true asset in my Psone Library.

Klonoa 2

I bought the first one for my wife and she loved it,got her the second one and she loved it too..One of those games she'd sit and play, and plan to play the next day etc,etc......Watching her playing it sucked me into playing this great game..(me-up late still playing it)

I wound up getting a second copy of Klonoa 2 at the flea market for $5.00 a few months ago...I don't know why I bought it as I have one...but seeing this awesome game for that price I just had to grab it.

I'm going to ask my wife if she'll replay Klonoa and Klonoa 2 tonight.

The Klonoa series give me a real good, warm gaming feeling right through. Everything about them is pretty much perfect. I also love the GBA Klonoa's to bits. :-P

I would skip around the room if Klonoa came to the PSP. Playing a Klonoa game reminds me of another old gem........Tomba. I would skip around the room a whole bunch if Tomba also came to the PSP.
