I dont remember where I heard this term, but I thought it was pretty intresting. What it is is where you have a view behind the carater, but its off-center, so that your center/side/whatever of the screen is right in front of the charater. The best (and only) example I can think of is RE4, but what are some other types of games that have this?

No, that's still third person.
Second person games can't really happen since you'd have to not be a character, so the closest you'll get are 'god' games like Creatures and The Sims...Nintendogs kind of ruins it by refering to you as a trainer, thus making it more of a first person RPG...I guess.
edit - I guess any game where you're not in direct control of the character, you're simply giving them commands and hoping they'll respond could be considered a "second person" game. So let's list games that rely on artifical intelligence to control everything... like Nintendogs and Creatures.
and Galapagos.

Roush is absolutely right. Second person is basically narrating to some one, "You do this or you do that" type things. So add Black and White to the list. Or at least it's interaction with you're creature.

Yeah, I know what second person is, but it's still an intresting way to think about it. I didn't come up with the term for use in gaming, I just heard about it.

How about that game Kill Switch by Namco? Doesn't that have a semi over the character's shoulder type view?

Hmm, Populous would probably qualify since you really just controled the environment, causing flooding (hah hah! That shit never got old!), earthquakes (got old :( ), and otherwise just fucking with the terrain while manipulating your papal in the hopes of enticing your citizens into crushing their enemies and burning their villages.

Little Computer People
When I was driving back from the gym I was racking my head trying to remember the name of that. What a classic :)

wouldn't this be most strategy games, or are they third person?
What about a puzzle game like Lemmings where you tell them what to do and just hope for the best... :)

I was thinking about this a few days ago. Would Robot Alchemic Drive count? You play as a kid who is controlling a giant robot via remote. It seems kind of second person to me, but I've never actually played it. Some other games have you controlling robots by remote (Power Quest, Megaman Battle Network), but since basically control the avatar directly, its second person in narrative only.
