As much as I love this game (obviously), I'd rather see FFIII finally see a stateside release.

I'm a little bummed out that it'll be just a port.
I wish they'd reconsider and give it a Dawn of Souls style graphical makeover.

I really wish people would get excited about new innovative franchises rather than ports of decade old Final Fantasy games.
I mean, yeah Final Fantasy is great, but c'mon, it's a port. Applaud it and move on.

as pretty as dawn of souls was...
they totally nuetered the games on it and made them beyond ridiculously easy compared to the originals.
I'd love to see them keep the dificulty and make the games look prettier, but if I had the choice i'd rather have the dificulty over prettier graphics.
i know dawn had a ton of new areas/items etc etc
but the game was so horribly easy none of that extra stuff had much of an inpact (more so in ff1)
the psx one had a dificulty select on one of the games, but both were easier then the original. very frustrating.

Maybe. They haven't said anything about it in forever.

Amen to that! I remember the marsh cave giving me no end of problems in the original. Smoked through it in the remake. Same for the Ice Cave. I haven't even played the remake of FF2j, knowing it would just be a shadow of the original, and that any time I'd say I finished FF2, I'd feel compelled to add "But it was that watered down version."

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but all news about Final Fantasy III for the DS has been scrubbed from Nintendo's site. It's no longer on the upcoming games list, the games list - or even on their press site.
I wonder if there's some route we can take to grab an official word on the subject. Maybe FFIV is the consolation prize.

maybe they are going to remake it into next gen graphics, instead of FFVII.

Hell yeah!! Man those are great news!!
Not really sure why we should get excited about this. We already have FF2 SNES (US), an excellent version, along with the PlayStation port for the younger folks. It's a great game, but I think a lot of old schoolers want the games that didn't have a NES/SNES north american release. The PlayStation ports covered this, except FF3.

Be intresting how they add to the already great storyline for IV.

September 30, 2005 - Square Enix may have shifted its portable gaming focus to the DS, but Game Boy Advance (and Micro) owners aren't being left out in the cold. Reports out of Japan indicate that the company will be bringing Final Fantasy IV (known in America as Final Fantasy II) to the system with updated visuals and gameplay systems. We currently know of just one of the improvements: character faces appear in text windows during dialogue.
FFIV may be just the first in a number of Final Fantasy revivals. Square Enix refers to the port as the first entry in the "Final Fantasy Series Port Project." Could FFV and FFVI also be set for revival?

Now, what I'd like to know is if it's going to be the easytype we got for the SNES, or the original hard version that they had in Japan.

I already own the game, so I am not excited about this. All I want is to see a FFIII(nes) port realeased on ANY system (hopefully one of the ones I own, ie. not PSP).
