I went to my local Gamestop today to trade a couple of working complete NES systems and was shocked when the clerk told me I would be receiving $20 store credit in total. It wasn't that long ago that I traded in two others in for $35 each. I am sure this is some type of supply and demand thing but has the price dropped this low before? Does it tend to get higher during a certain time of year? If this keeps up I will need to sell them on Ebay and go through that whole hassle. Is this price chain wide or just at my local store?

I stopped bringing NES consoles to Funco when they reduced it to $30 credit. What you're saying doesn't surprise me at all. They're trying to get rid of all their NES and Genesis stock.

They are now starting to slow down the NES trade ins. They have given store managers the opportunity to stop carrying NES if they so desire. Say goodbye to good 'ol Funco.

It's pronbably supply and demand ting. I traded in a few complete NES sets over the summer to get a (nearly) free Gamecube. ;) I still have a few more good NES that I'd trade in if the price ever goes back up. But it's more likely they'd stop accepting NES altogtehr than to raise the price.

What's the price like on SNES or Genesis? I have half a dozen each. I know PSX isn't going to get much since you still can get new for under $50. And I know GBA's going to drop quite a bit in the next few months as many people unload GBA for GBA-SP.
