Recently I found this game for PSX in France, secondhand for 10 euro.
Number is SLES00964
It does not mention the GT in the title, is this a different version to the rare USA PSX title?

Its most likley the same title, just with a different name. There are numerous PAL games that are the same as their American counterparts just with different names. The only 'rare' US version is the BanDai original release. The Atari re-release basically devalued the game to nothing here.

To double-triple confirm/check PM Ataribuff the PS PAL editor and he could answer you a little better than I.
