Ive been reading on the internet there are Super IDE wires and Ultra IDE wires that have faster trans rates than regular 40 Wire Standard HD/CD/DVD Etc Wires. So i was thinking maybe i should upgrade my 40wire ide wire to either a 80wire "super ide" or a 100 wire "ultra ide". Would it work or not? And if it does, would it improve any?

Yup. 1-2%. At least in an unmodded Box. Put a faster, larger PC HDD in there, and a new IDE cable may do a bit more.

I never do this, as there are other upgrades that offer real performance boosts compared to that.

well actually if you use a modded xbox and load games of the HDD the loading times are decreased from like 4 s to about 1 s in most cases..

Yes, but that has little to do with the cable, and everything to do with the HDD.

well actually the transferspeeds are dependent on the cable as much as the capabilty of the hdd to function on ATA100 / ATA133 (dont think xbox support 133)

When I've played games off the hard drive, I didn't notice much change between the stock IDE cable and better ones. I wouldn't worry about doing this to your console until you have taken care of much more important and effective mods.
