Can't those be had for about $20? I've got one sitting around here from the PS1 version, I would hope it's compatible with the PS2 titles ...

The 3rd party ones, yeah....Konami makes 2 types of controllers for CS versions. "regular" and arcade style.

Wow.. I didn't think a new GF would ever see the light. Something to look forward to next year anyway.
On a side note, any chance that the existing guitars will work with the forthcoming Guitar Hero game?

Briefly looking through the Guitar Hero website (find it at www.redoctane.com) it says you will use up to 5 fret buttons. Sounds like you need a crummy RO/Topway guitar for it.

For Beatmania I have a third (or perhaps first) version of the controller that Konami released/Ascii produced for the PS1. Of course it's nowhere near the quality of those two ... There's a picture of it HERE (http://www.classicgaming.com.br/cgi-bin/vgh/17.asp?IDCuriosidade=1). I would imagine this older version wouldn't work with IIDX or above as it has only five buttons ...

Yeah, the PS1 games just used 5 keys. The PS2 games let you play 5 key mode, but only on the normal difficulty level for each song.
