Hi, I know there have been several topics about Famicom tech stuff but I could not find the info I was looking for. I just bought a Famicom & Famicom Disk System w/AC adapter in anifty Super Mario 2 carrying case and I was trying to get it to work last night. My first question is concerning the channel to use in the U.S.. Someone posted before to try channel 95. I did that and it works but the picture is snowy. Is there a better channel that works or some other way to make the picture better? What internal modification would have to be made to work better on a U.S. TV? My other question is how long should a Disk System game take to load? I let go for 2-3 minutes but it would never load. If it shouldn't take that long what could be wrong? Thanks for any help you can give.

Channel 95 is indeed the correct channel. You will then have to adjust the fine tuning on your TV. If you do not have this option on your TV, then you will need to mod the system to output compostie/rca video and sound.
Can't find the link right now.....
Anyway, as for the FDS, your belt is no good, guaranteed. If you can find a belt the same size (I think is is a 2 mm thick, 8 1/2in inside diameter belt..I could be very wrong though...use a belt measurer...maybe mcm electronics has one or someone like them). On top of this, a tiny adjustment to a screws on one of the motors may be necessary after the belt is replaced.
If you can't replace the belt, gamechoiceclub.com.hk may be able to do it for a fee. They fixed mine, but it was only cuz I bought it from them and it dudded out when it arrived.
It should only take about 2 seconds for the average game to load.
Yours,
Rob
