Good news if you're a Sam and Max fan:
Indie developer Telltale Games last night announced that it has acquired the rights to the careless crimefighters and will be creating all-new adventure games based on the exploits of the canine-lagomorph tandem.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GO FINISH IT NOW.
Holy Crap. Screw Lucas Arts. Telltale can do it. I have faith. I hope to visit Snuckey's soon. I miss it. I hope to also throw Max. That is always fun. I agree, Life is now worth living again.

I hope this time it actually makes it all the way to release. Unlike last time.

Same. I lost interest. I was a huge fan of LucasArts' adventure games, but it just didn't appeal in the same way that, say, Monkey Island or Day of the Tentacle did. I really must give it a proper play again sometime soon!

This is the best non-Revolution news I've heard all day.
Kick. Ass.

Wow, absolutely amazing.
Hopefully this makes it to release - Sam 'n Max deserve another showing.

You know, I totally missed your comment. You're spot on.
A new adventure game, from a popular franchise, with the Nintendo DS selling like hot cakes, and gamers crying out for this genre to leap over to said handheld... you would think it is a no-brainer.
Only time will tell, but I'm holding out some hope!

I'm sure they'd love to do a DS port, but right now Telltale doesn't even have the resources to port their games to the Mac. I think we may be waiting quite a while to see it on anything but the PC.

YAY!!! FECKING YES!!! :D :D :D
Heh... I just finished Sam and Max Hit the Road recently, and it reminded me just how funny and innovative it was for the time of 1993. It still holds up today, and it was quite a shame that SaM: Freelance Police, its planned sequel, was cancelled. NO MORE IS THAT TRUE!!! *spins like the Cone of Tragedy* As long as it retains the offbeat humor of the first game, I don't give a Snuckeys about who makes it... just get it made! :-D

If you do have the original game files, Get SCUMMVM. It emulates the SCUMM engine and works great. ScummVM lets you run these adventures: Adventure Soft's Simon the Sorcerer 1 and 2; Revolution's Beneath A Steel Sky, Broken Sword 1 and Broken Sword 2; Flight of the Amazon Queen; and games based on LucasArts' SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) system. SCUMM is used for many games, including Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max and more. http://www.scummvm.org/
Enjoy the classics, Same graphics, same story, just running on modern hardware.
