Has anyone here played Outlaw Tennis? If so, what are your thoughts? I saw it reviewed the other night on Judgment Day (the G4 review show) and it looked like fun. I've been thinking about getting it anyway but the review, even though the scores given it were only moderate (7 & 7.5), seems to make me think that would still be a good decision. It's also a discount game so it's got that advantage to. I've not seen it locally so I may have to order it if I want it.

Its out there. Ive seen it in all the Gamestops/EB's/WalMarts around.

Its really like Outlaw Golf/Volleyball in that its an OK attempt at the sport its taking on, but its meant more for the gimicks that they have. The players being seductive, or beating each other up when they do good/bad. Its really just a repetitive mediocre title. I felt that way about both Golf games and the Volleyball one. I'm sure this one is really no different.

I have the Outlaw Golf 9 Holes of Xmas from Blockbuster and it's okay -- nothing compared to even the old 2001 version of Tiger Woods I have as far as golf "action", but the gimmicks are a nice diversion.

The tennis, from what I played at a friend's house, is pretty bad. It's just way too fast and twitchy and the "extras" like the fights detract from the gameplay instead of adding to it. The humor is also very juvenile and kind of insulting -- and I like the GTA games, so I'm no prude when it comes to profanity or potty humor.

Even as a budget title, I would say to give it a pass.

The game is a good one, worthwhile to have and to play. It is not quite as good as Outlaw Volleyball becasue of some minor probs with the control (some players at times feel a bit touchy) and gameplay; but all Outlaw games have a somewhat simplified game engine, so it isn't certainly Top Spin, and the emphasis is on fast unrealistic over the top action.

The mini-games are entertaining and varied as always, the different gameplay modes (like the hot potato mode from Volleyball, I liked in particular the pinball mode) are there, and of course the intentional fun of stereotypical players. The challenge is great, the game can become intense, but never frustrating due to the minor control problems.

If you liked Volleyball, you like this one too. It is a budget title, but when it comes to gameplay value, it is much more than that. I played all the tournaments in normal mode and had a good time.

It's funny...I've pretty much decided I want to buy this but haven't so far. I have yet to come across it in an actual store and almost ordered it online a couple of times but always wind up getting distracted and ordereing something else...a DVD or a book... I'm going to a movie on Monday so maybe I'll hit a few stores then that I haven't yet. Perhaps I'll find it at one of those.
