Just read over at insertcredit.com (http://insertcredit.com) that SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters DS is in development.

I surely hope this comes stateside. I would be willing to import (Mr Driller anyone?), but I want to play this against real people damn it, and I just don't see the casual DS owner shopping at Play-Asia.

Assuming it does get a US release, I would expect most established players will run out to get their own copies, if only to start building their deck. But I would hope that the game supports a single card multi-player option. Lets face it, while the NGPC versions are awesome, not that many people (read Americans) have ever played it.

I would suggest that the client player (the one who downloads the game from the host) have access to either the host players cards or a selection of premade standard decks that are known to offer competive hands.

I would also expect that this one card mode would only give access to a card table and not any of the RPG elements which could be potentially shared, along with other special features, with the standard P2P multi-player (ie each player has a copy of the game).

On a side note, I must say that the DS is really starting to pile on some excellent titles.

Found this over at
1up.com (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3143820).

I wonder if there will be both SNK & Capcom variants.

Ditto. I have more and more reasons to get one as time passes.

Oh man, am I the only one thats excited about how many more cards they could have with a DS version? Or how great the artwork could be?

They could have attack sequences a la roleplaying RPGs with the various characters.

If this comes out stateside, the question wont be "should I get a DS?" it will be "Where should I buy my DS?"

Great news!

That pretty much tears it for me. If this gets a domestic release, I'm getting a DS. The NGPC version was one of my favorite games of all time.

I... have to agree...

After playing Nintendogs for about 5 minutes in the store today and having a blast (I could seriously sit around and just pet those virtua dogs for an hour, I swear... I wasn't even expecting to like it!) and hearing this, I'm tempted to buy my first handheld since the Neo Geo Pocket.

And which game sold me on the NGPC originally? Yup, Card Fighter's Clash.

Awesome! I hope this comes out in America, CFC on NGPC is probably my 2nd favorite game of all time, and probably my most played game of all time. This is the best video gaming news I've heard in months.

Good, my Capcom copy is about at that "i can't get any more cards without another person with a SNK copy" stage.

Awesome news. I was in the store yesterday eyeing a DS but I didn't commit. I felt like I should have done it yesterday, and I'll probably end with one before this game comes out, but thank god almighty that it's coming out. I fucking LOVED that game. Like, put 60 hours into it LOVED it. Even when you're mostly done at 20 and there aren't that many cards you can get after that point. Jesus damn I'm excited for this one!

Mine mine mine :D

As a rule I generally can't stand card games, but SNK... bless you, you've managed to make a card game beyond great.

Get the damn thing wireless enabled so I can play against any of you lot from here in the UK ;)

A dream perhaps... but I will be so over this if it comes out in the West (as I already own both UK titles and the Japanese only sequel for NGPC).

I think we need to create a partition to make sure this comes out world wide...Europe...USA...and Australia. We need this game badly! Capcom and SNK need to know that we are loyal fans to the original and need this on DS.

I still want Namco X Capcom, but nobody has said a word yet!

While I have no proof, I think it will get a worldwide release. Yes the fan base is on the small side, but it seems to me very committed and these people will buy. Hell, this game will sell systems.

Just don't make 20 millions copies, and it will be like printing money.

I'm sold!

The functionality of the touch screen will add a phenomenal improvment to an already excellent game.

One of my video game wishes has finally come true! Now SNK just needs to announce a US release date...

Bah. It's just another port to me. I know the DS may look better and get some balancing that they included in the second one, but it's just another DS port to me. One that could have been on the GBA.

Four years ago.

I'm happy it's coming out and a new audience will be able to play it and all, but there's no way in hell I'm putting down my NGPC to play a DS.

Very excited about this one! :D I have actually mentioned it to a few friends as a dream title for the DS a few times thinking it would never be done, but damn! Can't WAIT!

You seem to be overlooking the fact that the touchscreen will add a lot to the gameplay. No more picking the card you want with the d-pad and moving it into play, now it's just a swipe with the stylus. Also, it will almost undoubtedly look better (the actualy card part was already pretty slick in my opinion, but the RPG-part was somewhat lacking). I'd also assume it wouldn't be a port either, but instead at least fairly different from what we already know and love on the NGPC. Plus, people actually own DS systems. Try finding a friend with a NGPC and a copy of CFC. I'm not saying it will be on every street corner with the DS, but there's a far greater chance, especially if they have wi-fi capabilities in order.

I will get a DS if it makes it to the states. I love the NGPC version. I am still playing the Capcom version to this day. Someday I will own every card for the capcom version. Then I will have to do the same for the SNK version

You still need a friend, as some cards can only be gained in link-battles.

Oh and I hope they use the gameplay between matches like the first one, liked that mor then the menu navigating in part 2.

look at the art style of advance wars DS, its very close to KOF style art, imagine that more mature style added to card fighters clash
