I was reading about this and was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is still on track for release, or if it's been cancelled. I really want something like this!

That's a little different, because it uses downloadable content instead of a media like CD-roms. I want to be able to play the PC games I own on my TV.

if you want to play pc games on your TV just plug your PC into your TV via S-Video :)

Does anybody have plans to release something like this? If they were both cancelled, maybe they atleast inspired someone else. Just think if they made one of these that could play PC games, mp3s, and run downloaded recorded Mpeg/Jpeg formats, plus all the DVD's and CD's...

It wont happen because its impossible.
This is also the exact same as what the Phantom originally started to be.

Funny then that it ended up the same as the Phantom as well.
