I really liked it. Hard to see it as a different game though. I just look at it as disc two in the same game. Which isn't a bad thing since the first one was 19.99 and second 29.99 which together is about the price of a new game.

Sometimes I wish I had never played it just so I could experience it for the first time all over again.

Hmm, now I'm not so sure. I went to the rose stage again, and I was in a different level, in the town.

I also seemed to be bigger, though I'm not sure this is true, since I still couldn't pick anything up besides roses.

Well, according to an FAQ, the boy opens up a level that when you complete it, opens up another level (The rose sitting in the field) which the goal is.. get this.. collect ONE MILLION ROSES! It takes place on the main map. I am betting if it's like the normal main world map, this may be the "Eternal" equivalent we're looking for. Now to collect all the dang cousins. Wow.. One million roses? Really? Holy cow that sounds fun.

The one million roses takes place in the ice rink around the hill where the snowman is. That's it. It's tedious....not so much fun. You don't even get bigger (at least I haven't yet, and I'm 10K roses into it)No, it randomly takes place in one of the three main levels actually.

As much as I believe that Sothy should be world dictator, I have to disagree with him on Katamari.

Not as good as the first, this one...I don't think. Music not as good (as has been said multiple times), the play...well the play is the same. I'm undecided on this one, I am.

I hate the box art. JEFFK could do better with MSPAINT.

But worth the price...barely. If they go up to $40 for the next one, I'm not biting.

I can't seem to beat my 3445m, but I'm working on comets now (I've got 5) and already have all the cousins. The million rose level isn't really that great, I actually prefer the roll up the cousins stage that is unlocked before it. If I get all the comets and starbursts around all the planets, then I might roll up a milllion roses.

I really like the Fast as Possible 1-5 stages in this one. I dunno, it's just fun to try and break your records that way, since it only takes 1-2mins a level.

I disagree with calthaer and agree with Kim Possible. A few songs on this one are much better than some of the songs on the original.

It's more of the same, but at the same time, more new stuff. How anyone can say it's the same game is unbelievable, it's got tons more to do.


I'm off to find the remaining cousins.

BTW, in level 5 during the "Fast as possible" stage, get big enough and then find the giant whale. It's fun to ride on its back.

And one more to go.. damn... it's the campfire level. Aye carumba! Here I go!

Edit: Yay! Beat the campfire and got the cousin. Got it (3m) with 15 seconds left. Just collected all the cousins. Now the credits are ending so I can play the Rose.

Yay, I rolled up the sun. It took me this long because I was without a TV for about a week, so I'd say I did pretty good. Now I've got to go back and get bigger/faster scores =P

I'm still trying to figure out which levels I haven't done because of the clunky interface. I think I'm nearly done with the game though. The elephant level was a hell of a lot of fun. If you abuse the dash to death, you can get big pretty damn fast. I got to around ~3,500 something and when I hit the king with 7 seconds left HE FLEW. I was able to roll him up at exactly 1 second left, lol! I think I got everything, because I was able to roll up the icey area, and that HUGE volcano, there seemed to be nothing but islands left.

I didn't realize there was a "Queen" in there as well....was she the one floating on her back? If so I'm sure I rolled her up. Guess I'll have to look through the collection.

I played it finally yesterday, and I really like it... Like the first one, it has that "one more level before I quit" kind of quality... I just accessed the school level.

And as someone pointed out, I see it more like a Katamari vol. 2 than a full-fledged sequel.

Now, I've gotta try out the coop mode...

Can all of the cousins and second cousins be found without playing the co-op mode? I have nearly found all of them, but I was playing a level I had played 10 ba-zillion times today, this time in co-op mode and a new cousin appeared in the level that I had never seen before.

I hope you don't have to co-op just to get cousins.

Still missing that gift in cowbear level, anybody want to toss me a hint (emphasis on the word hint, please don't just tell me :) )

You don't have to coop to get all the cousins. On levels that contain multiple cousins (you can tell up at the upper left corner while you're talking to the character in the meadow), if you've found one of the cousins, try playing that level again as the cousin you found.

Hint for the cowbear level? Hrm. I'm trying to keep this really vague and yes, I know, it sounds rather obvious, but here we go: If you're not looking at the right spot at the right time, you won't see it. :) If you want more of a hint, just let me know.

The ten levels that produce the shooting stars are the As Large As Possible and As Fast As Possible levels 1 through 5. Any one of those that has a number after it is a potential shooting star. I'll try to remember to get our times to help out.

Probably not. The levels have a certain degree of randomness to them, and nearly all of the cousins are in plain sight. You could just be getting unlucky.

We have all 10 comets now. The only one I don't see listed was Fast 5. I earned it at 11:52

Nah, look near the pitstop for the present, it's in a tricky, but obvious place once you look around the area. If you want something more specific than that, let me know.

The cousins on stage 5 are all accessible as the Prince. I'll try to give some hints:

1) You'll get the first one before you leave the town, look around the market area

2) You'll find the next one in the second part of the stage, he's a wrestler, so check places wrestlers would go.

3) You'll find this one on the third part of the stage. Check the Nessys

4) You'll find the last cousin in Egypt on the fourth part of the stage.

As for the Rose Nebula, I tried to roll it up @ 500,000 roses but I couldn't find it anywhere on the Sun stage. Maybe I just missed it.

No, the game was fine, but your [lack of] reward for completing the monumental and tedious task of 1 million roses sucks.

Hint: If you aren't going for 100% completion, don't even bother.

YAY! Just got all the cousins! Very very cool. The roll up the cousins objective is very cool and very fun! The "cut-scene" between that level and the credits was great.

I hear a lot of people bitching about the million rose level, but I'm just happy to have unlocked it. I guess I'll be jaded like the rest of you...

Finally got past that school stage. I just gathered everything I could up in each room and I suceeded.

No idea at where I'm at when it comes to being through the game, although I'm up to the chapter in that story when the dad collapses on the beach.

you are pretty far along, story-wise, but you probably have lots of more fun stuff to find and unlock.

That's one of the best things about this game, near limitless replay.

PROTIP 2: You can pause the rose level and hit circle to restart. YOur rose count is saved, but all the roses are reset. It is pretty handy once you pick up all of the bunches.
