I got suckered into thinking I should get the Max. When was that, 1987? That thumb-pad is one of the stupidest things Nintendo has done. I got this instead of an Advantage. Commence kicking.

Anyway, the dogbone is the best NES pad.

About as rare as potato salad.

The only controller I know of that sucks more is the TurboTouch 360. Do they ever test these things or do they design, build and sell them and *then* see what happens?

The controller works great for Fester's Quest, but that's about it.

recently got 2 "max controllers" that were factory sealed and a factory sealed "advatage controller". I've owned the advantage as a kid but never tried the max. I was waiting for my NEX to arrive before I tried it. Hopefully the max is not as bad as everyone here thinks! (spent TOO much for this stuff)

/me plugs in MAX
/inserts megaman 2 into NES
/selects quickman
/dies on 2nd beam
/wraps up MAX and never uses again

This is NOT as bad of a controller as everyone else here seems to think, it just takes getting used to. At a time when it was my only NES controller, I got used toit, and now I use it more than the dogbone. If you've ever used the power glove, you probably hate it too, but if you get used to it it's not that bad. Give the max a chance.

No way. It works great with Gradius too.

I've seen many of them in the wild but never felt the need to buy any.

About as rare as Super Mario 3.

And I love the Max, BTW, even though most seem to hate it.

Yea I had this controller, It just took away the feeling of actually knowing your pressing down and the character was moving so people didn't like it. I mean imagine playing SF2 with that thing :eek 2:

Add me to the small but growing list of people that don't hate the NES Max. Sure, it isn't the perfect controller -- I give it to the dogbone also -- but I didn't think that it was too bad. It takes a little getting used to, but I think is pretty easy to use once you do get used to it.

I also loved the Max. It did take some getting used to and non of my biddies could use it, so I always got to use it's turbo power.

Ah the memories of playing pro wrestling:

Friend -Man you're hitting turbo on that thing

Me - No I'm not you just suck! (yes I was ;)

I had a MAX and there was a learning curve with using it. It was awsome once I got it down. the trick was not to use the little thumb thing and just just the black boarder circle. I used nothing else after that.

Honky don't know what he talkin bout.

The 360 was the best pad I've used. Took a lot of paitence to learn how to use it but man. NO MORE NINTENDO THUMBS! :D

I absolutely despise that controller. After using the Nintendo Dogbone controller for so long, there's nothing better than the Dog bone. Also, I hate the circular pad thing. I just think it's annoying to use.
