I was thinking what if all my NES games suddently stopped working. If the EEPROMs only lasted for 25 years or something.
So what would you do if you one day took down a game to play it and it didnt work, then another and another, no one worked because they had been damaged by time.

You'll probably be thinking about other things by the time the hard wired ROM chips in your cartridges give out, like what it's like being dead.

99.6 percent of released NES games (don't get all Sachen on me either) do not have EPROMs. They have plain old ROMs. The Playstation 432 will be out when these don't work.
Prototypes, if you have them, probably have EEPROMs, and should be backed up.

I guess I would switch to roms of the games I own. I really try not to think about it because that would mean I'm old. Time sucks, I think about my playstation or Dreamcast dying or the discs getting rot so they don't work anymore.
