I will pay almost anything for a us version of sonic for sms. It must be mint, and 100% complete. If anyone has one to sell, I am sure we can work something out.
Thanks

You are aware that aside from a mere sticker, it's identical to the European release, aren't you? The Europen release which can be imported for just a few dollars.

Its also a good thing I found this out recently when someone here paid over $300 for a damn sonic w/ sticker. Are there any other sms games like this that I should avoid? I mgoing for a complete US collection of SMS games, but theres no way in hell im spending all that cash just for a sticker...

I have a MINT European version if you want, I could also try and make a UPC sticker for your collection?
I'll sell for about $200

so, excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is the sticker on the US version? is it just a UPC overlay, or...?

i don't get why people are so fussy about getting just us titles... i mean they are the same games that are far cheaper

I can understand it in most cases, but not for something like this where the ONLY difference is a friggin' UPC sticker. Hell, just buy a Euro one and tell yourself that the sticker fell off...

LOL
Yeah that's what I'd do.
I mean I could understand if it had some sort of cool US-exclusive artwork.. but a sticker..

I've also seen auctions for that game end with fairly low bids. It's one of those games that only seem to go through the roof when a couple collector's get in a bidding war.
Also as always a game is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it. While it's true the only difference on the US version of Sonic is the sticker, finding one with said sticker is incredibly difficult. Especially now that there are always fewer and fewer copies in the wild as collector's keep snapping them up. I know from experience that some Master System collectors are EXTREMELY finicky about their games. If there was even a minor variation like that on a limited number of Neo-Geo or Duo games it would be 10 times worse.

These games have us barcode stickers on them and are actually the same as the PAL games:
Sonic
Strider
Spiderman
The US spiderman I bought on ebay had no sticker. My Strider which I found in a local game store, had one, but I repalced the screwed up case and forgot about the sticker so it no longer has one, lol. I don't own Sonic, it's the only US game I don't have. I'm not going to pay an obscene amount of money for it. If I find it in the wild, I'll get it. One day I might bother myself to buy a euro copy for like a dollar.
Buster Douglas has reach over 200 bucks before, but I would say it generally will go for 90 - 160. Super Monaco GP was one of the hardest games for me to find. I believe I payed around 26 for it.
