Is my PS2 dead now?!

Ok, I tried cleaning the PS2 lens (got a jewelry screwdriver kit) listed here:

I also cleaned the inside of the system with a can of compressed air and then cleaned the laser. Ok, I put the disc cover back on and plugged it in to try it, and nothing. The disc won't load up, and the player won't spin now.

What did I do wrong?!

I'm not sure, but the same thing happened to my first PS2.

At least they are cheaper now ;)

Crap, thought I had it fixed, and the problems just came back again...

Im not sure if messing with potentiometers does anything to the PS2, but if all else fails I suppose it couldnt hurt. Try to mark the original position first, though.

what modell is the ps2 ?

and does it doe a humming noice directly once you turn it on and stop after like 2-3 seconds ?
