Those could just be placeholders... we shall see. :hmm:

Ewww...

Are these official? Online retailers have a notoriety for guessing...

Gamestop always sets a high "pre-price" for a lot of games. About a couple of weeks closer to their release dates, look for a "Price Drop" on those titles.

Hopefully they're all just estimating those games prices and that's not we'll actually have to pay in the end. Though I'm still kinda baffled why they decided to jack up the prices of alot of GBA carts to 35 dollars.

I doubt those will be the final prices. Mario Kart for $34.99, but Crash Racing for $49.99? Expect the prices to drop when they come out...

But why set them to $50 if no DS title has ever sold for that much?

Believe me, I hope I'm wrong.

Because if you set it at $29.99, and it came out for $34.99, people would be PISSED that you were raising the prices, and/or would expect to get the game for $29.99.

I won't pay $35 for any handheld game. I KNOW I will find it cheaper eventually. I still do not have Advance Wars DS for this very reason.

No way in hell I'd pay $50 for a new DS title. Unless they package the game with something with it. (i.e. Mario Kart with WIFI pack Aceessory, etc.)

Oh well, that's just me.

Ebgames Has a tendency to overprice games and consoles when no price point has been announced. I'm not sure about there refund policy but I'm pretty sure they give you back the diffrence when the price has been set.

So no worrys I'm more then sure you won't see any game released for the DS for more then 39.99 at the most. More then likly they will be 34.99.

Nintendo has enough sense to keep prices on their first party games down. Has one ever surpassed $35 (excluding obvious special edition packages)? I'm thinking Electroplankton will probably be $35.

It's really the 3rd party developers that you should be worried about.

Yep it's just a placeholder price. And like someone else said earler, when the game comes out of the price drops, people will be much happier than if the game came out of the then price was raised.
I personally would pay any price for a Wi-Fi version of Mario Kart anyday though! :D

I hope those prices are not official. 50$ for a Bust a Move game seems way off.

The two source links have different prices for many of the upcoming games, and Amazon has much lower prices that either. My guess is that this 'upcoming' list prices are bogus. Why, I have no bloody idea - just stupid game stores would be my guess.

My two bits, but I don't see $50 DS games!

EB has been using the $50 price on a lot of announced games and lowering it as time moves on and more details are provided by publishers. It's been going on for quite a while too, so it's nothing to be alarmed about.

I sure hope this isn't going to hold true. The 50 buck price point on the PSP games have kept me away from it. Portable games should not be over 35 dollars.....PERIOD. :/

Unfortunately games are still more expensive in Europe than in the US. In Germany, where I live, normal retail prices go from 35-45 Euros. 1 Euro being about 1.20$, do the math yourself.

That's why I only buy games in Japan now. In Japan prices are slightly cheaper than in the US, but nearly the same. If possible I aim for used games, which are in great condition in most of the cases.

I'm of the same opinion than my fore-poster: Handheld games should not be more than 35$.

Those $49.99 prices are definatly placeholders. I remember a few months before Advanced Wars DS came out it had the same infamous $49.99 price.

Haha, you almost have to hope that some of those titles come out at the full $50. I mean, with Mario Kart at $35 and Crash Kart at $50, it wouldn't take long for Crash to find the bargain bin spot it (more than likely) so richly deserves.

Hehe people complain about games cost as little as $50 ?
Dont move to skandinavia then. Here games usualy cost between 60 and 75 USD. Hell, I have Mortal Kombat Trioligy for N64 and the pricetag on the box says $120. I belive we had N64 games that was as much as $135 too.

However, if the games are produced and manufactured in USA its no supprise that they are cheaper. It cost money to import games to Europe (if their not made here). But even if the games was made here I bet they would still cost the same because people are willing to pay what the cost now.

No chance Nintendo will release a title, such as Elektroplanktion for $50. No way. That's a title, which they'd love to get out there to highlight the uniqueness of the DS. It's not even a proper game...no way that is true.

who would pay 50 bones for another Bust-A-Move port?
