It's been awhile since I gave up, so bear with me as I try to remember.

I gained the first crown from the two conspirators on that island town (the one with the museum) who poisoned the mayor. I returned it to Anubis who was happy and told me to get the other crown from Ur (or something like that). He was also supposed to have given me some stones that would unfreeze some more folks in the petrified palace.

However, when I got to the palace, none of the people would unfreeze and I see no stones in my inventory. Anubis is now telling to me hurry up and get the crown that I've already recovered and delivered to him, but the folks back at the town acknowledge that I've already done that.

So I seem to be stuck with no way to progress. Does anyone remember which guys get unfrozen at the palace the second time you go there? Or is there something I've neglected to do?

Honestly, pull out a strategy guide from GameFaqs.com or somewhere and read through it. I've found that Sphinx is unfortunately one of "those games" where every once in a while you have no context clues about the next thing to do, and unless you pull out a guide you're pretty much permanently stuck.

I've been stuck close to the end of this game for about a year now. I got there and put it down, and I didn't play it for a few weeks. Now, I don't have any clue what to do next, or even where to look in a guide to figure it out.

Great game, but it sure gets frustrating when that stuff occurs.

I forgot about gamefaqs. I remember someone else saying pretty much the same thing about the game, so I guess there's no shame in opening up a walkthru or two. I just hope it's not a glitch.

Thanks

After reading through the faqs, I have to assume that I've fallen victim to a glitch. Anyone else encounter problems with the game?

I guess my only option is to restart, but I'm too far in for that. Looks like another addition to my pile of never-to-be-completed games.
