Hey everybody,
As of today, I have all of the North American released Intellivision games. I had all the games except for 6 in November of last year, at which point I thought to myself "its pretty much done, I can relax on Intellivision now." 6 months go by and I hadn't gotten a single new game. Thats when I started hunting down the last games I needed. The last game I got was Happy Trails, which arrived today.

Here are the games that have their boxes. I didn't collect boxed games, but I did amass quite a few of them in my travels:

And then 2 pictures of my loose games. Pictures were taken with a fish-eye lens for added goodness. I don't know why the picture had to be taken with my 2 worst labels sticking right at the camera.

Just for kicks, here are the two heavy-hitters:

Now onto completing that monster known as the complete NES collection. :)

One more thing, I'd like to thank the people who helped me get some of the games that completed my collection. I'm sorry if I forgot about you:

That's right. There's no relaxing until you have that final game. That's the first time I've actually seen the Congo Bongo cart.

Congrats!... and good luck on the NES collection.

Were some of the later INTV games released without overlays or boxes? Somehow I have it in my head that some were.

Nice going. I love INTV, but have been neglecting my collection for some time. I don't think I'll go for completion, but I will continue on my very minor goal of acquiring all the Imagic games. Only have three so far. Since you can play everything, you ought to post a must-have list for the rest of us. Or at least me.

All of the games had boxes. Spiker!'s box is definitely the rarest box in the entire library. I know of a few people who only need that one box to complete their collection. The box for Stadium Mudd Buggies is fairly rare too. They were both released around the same (or at the same) time, so they're kind of the same.
Some of the games didn't have overlays, I'm quite certain that Spiker and Stadium Mudd Buggies didn't have overlays, as well as CongoBongo. I'm sure other do too, but I don't know.

Actually, quite a few Intellivision games were made without overlays. 37 out of the 125 games for Intellivision never had them. That's almost a third of the games! My friend Psycho_Stormtrooper designed and produced overlays for those 37 games including Triple Challenge... a game that requires 6 overlays.

Isn't it nice to say you have the collection. I dig that feeling. It is probably the only collection I have complete and for that matter ever will. I don't have the necessary money or time to hunt or to ebay for all the titles I need for sooooo many other systems. i find it funny Happy Trails was your last title you got, considering the availability of Fathom, Congo Bongo, Learning Fun II, SS Volleyball etc.

Enjoy, let the (intellivision disc) thumb wars begin anew.

The Online Rarity Guide answers this better than I could:

I've never played an Intellivision before but there's a wealth of it where I live.

Congrats on the complete collection. It doesn't really matter what you collect, having a complete set of anything would be an awesome feeling. I've shoved everything aside in order to do a complete of the PSP. I can't see that system being around forever, so it shouldn't be too overly hard to accomplish.

Did you pick up the homebrews?:
http://www.intellivision.org/IntelligentvisionGames.html
I had a grumpy moment at the DP booth at CGE last month. Really didn't want to pay $90 for 4-tris and Minehunter, but finally decided a complete intv collection must stay complete.
The Blue Sky Rangers guys have some official new releases coming too, the website should have details. They had a mailing list for it at the show.

I have the homebrews so I do count them. :)
I'd rather have them than the test cart (which a lot of collectors bought)

I enjoy reading all the varying opinions on what constitutes a complete collection of something. It seems no matter how many times it's discussed, there's never a clear cut anwser that all parties can agree upon. Whatever floats your boat, whatever you deterimine to be worthy, that's all that matters. It should be about fun.

I think some collectors are more concerned with notching their belts, so they can brag about their completed collection x. Probably worried if homebrews were counted, they will always be buying new cartridges as new ones come out.

Honestly they are games, so they do count in the overall scheme of things, whether they were released back in the day or not. But one can always boast they own a complete collection of software released "back in the day." If one chooses not to collect all homebrew games, they surely can't have the most complete collection available to them. I think some collectors are missing out on some really amazing games put out by these homebrew authors.

I myself feel that test carts & demos are not really needed in a collection. The exist, and are interesting pieces of videogame history, but they are not much fun to play with. They're not games and not worth the price of admission to most collectors. I'd rather track down the homebrews, where at least you have something worth playing before I dropped the money on test carts that are never gonna be used.

Congrats to Jumpman Jr. for his complete INTV collection! :rocker: Just one question, which is your favorite? I see a number of titles there, like Diner & Thunder Castle, which I've never played, or owned for that matter. I would like to try out some day, if I ever decide to collect INTV again. Do you have a favorite? I found after I completed my 5200 collection, I really don't pull it out that often. I just started spending more time working on my 2600 collection. I really should pull the 5200 out from under the bed & play it!

Also had a question concerning Congo Bongo, is it in an Imagic casing? Was this the norm for that one? I had never really looked at that one, I know it's a rare title, but am surprised by the style casing it appears to be in. I'm wondering what the arrangement was with that? Because this is was a Sega game right?

I don't consider homebrews part of a complete collection, but they are definitely cool to have. I might pick up some here and there if I see them for cheap. I remember a while ago I wanted that Stonix game, but never wanted to pay for it.

Awsome, I'ts great to see people with complete collections. I don't I'll ever complete the SNES collection, but all I really want are the geme's that I loved as a child which I'm almost done getting. From that point on, I'll just collect for it off and on :)

Heh, Congo Bongo.

Named "Best Audio-Visual Effects of 1984" (on all systems) by Electronic Games Magazine???
http://www.digitpress.com/dpsightz/intellivision/congobongo.gif

I don't understand the ad, either. "You'll die laughing"? The game isn't even remotely funny. Sure the monkeys are kind of cute (in the arcade where they don't look like brown blocky lizards), but I have never actually laughed, especially considering how hard the game was.
