View Full Version : Rather disturbed about my Myst Order

I'm not sure what to make of this but a month ago i pre-ordered a item by the name of "Myst V: End of Ages LE DVD Movie DVD-Rom (PC & Mac)" for $54.99 CAD. Now the item has disappeared from Amazon.ca however it still appears in my pending order.

I realize that $54.99 CAD is an insane price since the LE game is selling for $59.99 US and i assume that's why the LE has disappeared from Amazon.ca but i'm really starting to wonder if i'm going to receive my LE copy or what Amazon is going to do. Anyone else had this kind of situation?

Amazon is listing the normal Myst V for $54.99 as "Myst V: End of Ages (PC & Mac)" so do you think they're gonna try to screw me and ship me the normal version instead? By rights my order should guarentee me a copy of the LE Edition.

If only :)

I would e-mail Amazon. They'll set the record straight. Though, based on what you have said, you won't like what they have to say.

I think right now i'm just gonna wait for them to send it to me. It still says that i'm going to receive the LE and if they make no announcement to me and ship me the normal version then i'll just send it back. Besides i'll have a more solid stance against them if i have a mailed receipt stating the wrong item.

If they do ship me the LE for their screwed up price i'll be happy, but i'd rather not do anything like communicate with them since it could end up screwing me. For instance if myst comes off my order i'll be nailed for shipping on trace memory which is bundled with it.

Oh and both the normal and LE versions of MYST were listed when i placed my order. Amazon says that if the price is higher then the price stated that they'll either contact me or they'll just outright cancel the order. They haven't done either yet so it'll be interesting to see what i receive in the first week of october.

I concur with Inky-best to contact Amazon right now before something gets glitched or be "Pyst" when you don't get what you ordered.

I concur with Inky

I like it when people call me Inky :)

Exactly.

It would bother me if I did not know what it was that I am about to receive, when I might receive it and how much it is costing. If you e-mail them, whatever answer they reply with, is the action they will undertake - regardless of whether you contact them. So, why not uncover the truth now, while you can still make ammendments to your order?

This might be way off, but... because it is a Limited Edition, perhaps Amazon have stopped taking pre-orders, and have duly removed the product page? It could be possible, I suppose.

Again the main reason i want them to ship something with it is because i don't want to pay shipping on my copy of trace memory and i can ship something back for less then it would cost to get Trace shipped to me. But i think i am going to break down and e-mail them because i'd really like to know. I'll post their response.

That was a though of mine but i figured they'd just list it as out of stock. However after thinking about it, it seems kind of odd to list a pre-order as out of stock so that may be the norm.

Ages LE DVD Movie DVD-Rom (PC & Mac)" is a special order item on our

Well that's good news for me but it doesn't explain why it's been removed from the site.

Pre-ordering games from Amazon ends up with you getting the game weeks after release, if at all.

Were boys? I don't see it. They explain that it's special item that requires them to make special arragments, but it doesn't state why it was removed. It was up there for many weeks.

And Zing, i've never had any trouble with Amazon.ca. I always get what i order before they're predicted arrival date be it games, books, movies or otherwise.

Those fucking So's of whores waited until the last second and cancelled my order. I hope they're all roasted alive.
