 Rant Starts
What's wrong with people now a days that ship boxed "great condition" games in envelopes/Bubble mailers?
Today makes the 6th batch of Gameboy/Color/Advance games that I have gotten to come to me in envelopes.
It's just not the people on E-Bay, I have gotten one from a member here, and all of the box's have been smashed flat.
I don't know what it is that these people are thinking, as the 2 games that I got in today was the same price as they would have been shipped in a Priority box
I guess from now on, I'll have to ask the people that I buy from if they will ship them in a box, and pay a little extra for them.

That shite PISSES ME OFF. I've actually left neutral feedback on Ebay for it. I ALWAYS ask for a box and I ALWAYS offer to pay extra. I always mention that I'm a collector, too. Saying it's a birthday present and you need it in good shape doesn't hurt, either.
One time I got a nice, minty N64 game in a frickin envelope with SIX PEANUTS. Frickin SIX PEANUTS! She called it "bubble wrap"

Sorry. I feel better now.

And people wonder why I send stuff via Priority Mail? I get a free box, and it's shipped quickly. People complain all the time... "But Media Mail is cheaper!"
Pah.

dumb prostitute.
That is one that I haven't heard LOL .
I agree with you totally Kitsune. Everything that I sale is sent in a box, even books.
I have decided to keep these, as they are pretty hard to get, well they have been hard for me to get with the box's and instructions.
I'll just set a chair on them and see if they can get some of their shape back.

I don't trust people to ship stuff like GBA games properly. I always ask for them to be sent in boxes to protect them.

That's what I'm going to start doing.
Seems like a good E-Bayer, something that you don't see everyday :hmm: .

Ye, i know what you mean. Once I got a sealed Zelda 3 SNES and it was only protected with one layer of bubblewrap and gray paper. When I got it the seal was broken and the box had been crushed.
Also recived 2 GBA games with very little bubblewrap (maybe it was nothing at all, dont recall) and a paperenvelope. Both boxes recived damage during shipping.
I also always tell the sellers to protect the games good so they wont get damaged. Never had any problems with it after I started saying this to the sellers.

I always mention I'm a collector and would like to receive it in the same great condition it is pictured. And ask them politely to ship it in a box, offering extra never hurts.

Nothing is worse then having a mint ISS 2000 shipped overseas soley wrapped in brown paper. Who the hell in their right mind would ever even consider doing that, especially when they know the value of it.

I feel your pain. I just got a boxed Colecovision game in the mail yesterday that was shipped only in an envelope and bubblewrap. Of course it arrived somewhat flattened. I'm torn myself about what kind of feedback I should leave the guy.

every boxed game i shipped i ship in a priorty mail box (in the US) or a brown box to anywhere else. Check out my auctions if you want the goods shipped properly :)
and i agree with everyone, there is nothing worse then opening up your mail box to see that the complete and mint uncharted waters for NES you payed 30 bucks for plus 5.50 shipping was shipped in a bubble mailer (in which it hardly fits) for only 1.50 first class mail. first off, it is completely damaged and second, they just f'd you in the butt on shipping.

i've had a few boxes completley squashed in transit recently, lucky for me they were not major purchaes for me (rival turf on the snes)
when it comes to me selling i always ship out in a fair sized cardboard box, with bubble wrap and those air bags... even if it's an unboxed game, last thing i want is bad/nuetrel feedback due to a game/box being fucked dude to shipping

This may be a pretty dumb question, but... what's the process of sending something in a priority mail box (or envelope, for that matter)? I mean, yes, I know how to take a package to the post office and get it sent priority, but what do you do when you want them to provide the box? My post office doesn't have shit sitting out, so I guess you got to speak to someone to get it from behind the counter? And can you take it home to package and return, or do you need to bring your packing materials with you? What if you have a ton of stuff to sell? Will they hand over this stuff in bulk?

The way that I do it, is to get on the USPS web site and order them. They send them to you free, no shipping charges. I'll look up the ordering page and post it in a bit,

Of course you have to be in the US to receive these. And ship them via priority mail within the US. Not sure where Aussie is located at, but his username might indicate down under..
I've been burned in the past with poor shippers. I sometimes ask, when I'm unsure who I'm dealing with, especially if it isn't being sent priority.
Just recently I picked up a couple boxed games from Australia, $200 worth, these coming from someone who claimed to be a 'collector' They arrived in a bubble mailer smooshed. International shipment on hella expensive games, shipped in a freaking bubble mailer. I left two negatives to the seller. He did not wish to offer a refund so I did the only thing I could do in the situation. :/

I recycle the boxes I get in shipping. If it's priority and I'm not sending priority a little brown paper (free with your groceries) and packaging tape works wonders- for little to no cost.
Hell take a look around your kitchen, there's free cardboard boxes everywhere. I had a kid mail me a teddy bear in a cereal box once. Little flimsy for a game, but use your imagination. There's free packages lying all over the average kitchen.
Don't have packaging peanuts? Wadded up plastic shopping bags work great for padding. There is absolutely no excuse for charging $6 shipping and sending it $1.30, even if you pocket the difference I wan't more then a damn envelope.

I bought a Brand New In Box Virtual Boy from Ebay.
Despite a note in the Pay-pal invoice and a E-mail, the seller sent it IN THE ORIGINAL BOX ONLY !!!
It was crushed , wet, and had HUGE stickers all over it.
What a crappy day that was.

Well, from now on, I'll offer the seller(here or on E-Bay an extra $2.00 or $3.00 for shipping in a box. I don't think that it will cost much more than that.
I just hate to see some of these good box's smashed like this. I have been putting them in heavy books, but I will take them to work, and put them under our bench press.
It will put up to 50 ton's of pressure on stuff, and if that doesn't flatten them out, I'll just live with it.
It sounds like some of you have had alot more smashed than just a few cheaper Gameboy box's, and I feel sorry for you.

Well, down here, you go to the post office and request Priority Mail boxes. They give them to you for free. The end.
Almost every game I've had so far have been cart only, which was fine if they came in bubble wrap envelopes. I haven't had a problem with them yet. The only two complete games I've had come were in a box, which was nice. I didn't know the box could be flattened so easily in bubble wrap, but it makes sense. I'll have to remember that if I send out any boxed games.

Slightly off topic, but I actually had an LP sent to me from germany in a huge ass bubble mailer. Surprisingly it wasn't broken but the sleeve was all bent to hell. I'm not sure what goes through peoples head somtimes.

All boxed games I sell or trade go into Priority Mail boxes: the small ones for one, and the large ones for multiples or for mix and match boxed and cased games. Multiple cased games go into one of those Tyvek envelopes which are surprisingly durable. I love them.

I agree with everything Josh said and I do the same. I guess that's why I have an 1800+ ebay rating with 99.7% positive.

I had a bad experiance with a Saturn game case once. Someone was actually dumb enough to ship it in an envelope...and the envelope wasn't even bubbled! The game was Panzer Dragoon II...and it was it was supposed to be in mint condition. Well, I receive the item and since it was in a flimsy envelope...the game's case had gotten a big crack down the front of it and the top hinge had broken off while it was being shipped. So much for mint condition. Also...the shipping was $5, which should have easily covered a nice box to ship the game in!

At least in that case, you could get an old Madden case and swap things out. In the case of a crushed cardboard box there is no alternate.

True...I did swap the case with Virtua Cop, although I would like that game to be in good condition as well. I'll just have to get a cheap game like Madden sometime off of ebay with a good looking case.
