Anyone else suprised by the new GBA Mirco ad? For those of you who haven't seen it yet, basically two scientists place a mouse in a maze with cheese at one end and a GBA micro at the other, in order to measure addictiveness. The mouse promptly crawls through the maze and over a wall to the GBA micro which it then proceeds to hump like crazy.

I realize this isn't very risque or anything like that, but Rodent/micro sex just seems a little more out there then i would've expected from nintendo.

I saw that commercial today too and I was kind of shocked that Nintendo had made it like that. I'm pretty sure the mouse was having sex with it (which is why they were covering it with that book) which puzzles me because Nintendo's market is so child-oriented. I guess kids are into sex now. They aren't targetting kids. They've said from the start that they're marketing the Micro toward the new-cellphone-a-week set.

Token 80 year old? I'm 21 and lately i've found myself saying that all the time. These young pups just don't know how it is.

Anyways I think they're playing off the whole dog humping leg concept though and not sex. Dog's and legs is a joke as old as time and one that is understood by almost anyone.

Although the mouse is clearly thrusting with all his might slaming it pretty hard... Well hard for a mouse anyways. Guess the GBA Micro doesn't like it gental.

Anyone have a vid of this? I can't find one online and my capture cabailities are nil for the moment.

I was surprised by the comercial as well. I thought it was funny. Both my wife and I looked at each other like WTF was that.

Remember the commercial where the scientist were mice and a small human was in a maze or aquarium or something (forget exactly and what it was for). It would have been funny if Nintendo did that and had the small person hump the Gameboy Micro.

It reminds my of an _old_ Logitech add that had two pictures of a baby. The first was with the baby wearing a diaper, the caption said "feels good" Next to it was a pic of the baby peeing straighy up in the air (sans diaper) the caption said, "Feels better". :D

In actuality, the ad did its job, it damages the 'kiddie' stereotype even though the assumption is incorrect. It also got you looking at the product and paying attention to it.

Wether its a good product or not is irrelevant. Case in point: The PS2 and their massive failure rate.

The moral of the story is that shock value will get your attention, and if your'e looking, you may just buy it.

Another example is the Budwiser commercials. The commercials are humorous and interesting, BUT the beer is horrid. I refuse to drink the stuff when it's free. Just my opinion. :)

BTW, we got them in yesterday and the only thing I can think of to keep me from buying it is the fact that I want the blue faceplate and the orange faceplate, but they each come on separate packages which pisses me off. And makes me happy because I saved $100 because of something so trivial.

Same here. I copied the pic into Paint and magnified it by 8x, and just when I had the zoom over the area where that women's legs meet (to put it politely) Mom just HAPPENED to walk in. You can't really say anything in a situation like that, can you?

Dear god Nintendo's altered the commercial. They've removed the close up shot of the mouse just pounding the crap out of the Micro and that was the best part.

I wonder if maybe they got complaints from idiots about it. "Oh that commerical is pure filth. How dare you show such a vile act on TV corrupting our precious virginal youth. May the lord hate you and your kind, may you skin be turned orange in hue, and your head fall off at an akward moment."

You know, something along those lines. Either way the implication is still there, but i just don't think it's as funny with out the close up.

Considering that Nintendo's initial ad campaign for the DS is "touching is good", I'm not surprised to hear about the original ad for the Micro... it makes more sense once you know that they're targeting the cellphone gadget crowd, not the playground kids.

I guess the original ad must've aired on G4, right?

Hey, I watched it again, and I noticed some weired stuff with the chinease looking scientist. If you slow down the video, notice how hard he is just plain out STARING in amayzemant at the mouse and then as the other guy begins to set down the clipboard, he bends over and gets closer as to see the muse for as long as he can before the clipboard is placed down to the point that he would not be able to see. The he looks up at the clipboard guy with the confused and possibly disturbed or angry look for covering up his entertaing mouse on micro action. Then after it is apparent to him the the clipboard man is disturbed, he hegins to smile and chuckle! What A Freak!

CRAP MONKEYS! It is a quicktime movie and you cant save a copy without upgrading to QT Pro, which I am for sure not going to do! Can anyone else copy this movie or something or find it somewhere else on the web in a easier to save format and post a link to it here. I really want to get a copy of this to take around and show to friends on a CD-RW or something. And before people start telling me to just go here and show them on the net, not every computer has acess to the net, and I honestly would prefer this in another format if ever possible.

If you mean the link, then no. I have options to save the link, but just the link to the vid on the web, not the vid itself. And if you mean right-click the video itself, no that wont work either and that is because it is QT. If I right click, it does show the options to save the video, but it has that stupid little box next to those options that says 'pro', and if you clik those options, it will prompt you that you must upgrade to QT pro which costs about $30!

Wooops. Never mind the most recent previous post by me. I messed around with some things, and the reason that I could not right click and save was due to my internet browser, Firefox, as it did not give me the save target as option whenever I right clicked that link. I switched to another browser temporaly, clicked it, and got the needed option. I have now downloaded the video, and as soon as I post this I will burn this file to a CD-RW! I am so happy, and so scared at how happy this commercial makes me and how obsessed I am. Do you guys think that I need help?
