how common is it to have a TG-16 HU card go DEAD?

I have an Alien Crush Hu-card that came with the system I picked up at a rummage, and it is stone-cold dead. I've tried cleaning and frying it, and I've never gotten as much as a flicker on the screen with it.

Very very uncommon though. I've only seen a handful of dead ones ever...less than five, and I've probably had well over two hundred cards come through my posession...
