View Full Version : Devil May Cry 2 question?

I bought a non-GH copy of Devil May Cry 2 from the TRU half-off sale about 45 days ago. I didn't open it until last night, and I discovered that there are two disc 1s in the case. Both have Dante and Lucia on them. The manual says that you can choose either Dante or Lucia from the beginning and that they have different quests.

Should one of these discs say disc 2 or should they at least look different? I can't figure it out. I need an expert opinion on this matter before I call Capcom's customer service line on Monday...

Seems odd.. I've got the PAL version (original release as well), and one disc had Dante on it, and one had Lucia on it.. if you start one or the other, you can play as one or the other of them, but you couldn't really tell which was which until you started the game (aside from remembering what disc you just put in, of course).

If both discs are labelled "Disc 1", then there's probably a problem, but you could try both discs anyway and see if one starts as Dante and one as Lucia.

My NA copy has a disc 1 and a Disc 2. Things aren't looking to good for you. Well then again DMC2 is a shitty, shitty game.

Yea I wouldn't stress over playing this POS honestly.

That's a bit harsh.. DMC2 was the first game of the series I played, and it made me interested in the rest of the series.. compared to the first game, it's disappointing, but it's by no means shit. Even the third one probably isn't as good as the first, although it's a better sequel than 2 was, and the extra RPGesque elements make it worthwhile, yet alone the graphical improvements.

You have to be harsh, otherwise Capcom would do it again. Just look at megaman.

MegaMan, now there's a bunch of shitty, shitty games.. I can get the same experience as playing any of the original MegaMan games by having someone repeatedly run their fingernails down a chalkboard while I play Mastermind against someone who punches me in the head every time I take a turn.

Not that I'm bitter.

I called Capcom's customer service line and the kid who answered didn't know. He gave me a half-assed answer about the art being different, he didn't check with anybody there who might have had a clue and he just told me to mail it back and they'd take care of the error.

I don't care whether it was a good or bad game. I just hate wasting $10 on a game I can't even play all the way to the end because of a manufacturing error.
