Drinking Games- Classic VG style

ok now that i've got some real beer drinkers coming over for the NEGC meet i need some real drinking games...which classic games can you think of that would make cool drinking games? clubninja suggested warlords but that could take forever to get anyone thru a whole beer. describe your idea with a basic outline of the rules.

Super Mario Brothers (series)-
Every time you die you take a shot

Castlevania (series)-
Everytime you kill something you take shot (hehe save this for last)

Ninja Gaiden (series)-
Everytime someone says a curse word take a shot (Believe me you'll be cussing alot during the first one)
Every time you throw the controller take two shots
A curse word AND the controller throw take three shots

N64:
007 Goldeneye (multi-player)-
Try to get four people and everytime one of you dies take a shot and if you want you can bleed in the Ninja Gaiden rules because I know I allways throw my controller playing multi-player ^^;;

Pac Man or ET for 2600.

Everytime you say a word that little kid shouldn't hear, drink some. If you can make it through the whole round without saying bad stuff, take a big glub. LOL

There are some simple or corny board games you could try using like Antipation (you get the guess right, you take sips equal to the number remaining on the die. You guess wrong, all of your oppoment takes a big glub)

Do you need a drinking game to drink while you are playing video games? I thought it just came naturally.

Play the alphabet game.

The generic rules are as follows: You have 3 - 5 people, the first person gets the letter A they have to say a band that starts with that letter. They usually have 10 seconds to do this.

If they can't think of one they take a drink. Now Player 2 has to think of a band that starts with the letter A.

If no one can think of one it goes back to player 1 and they start with the letter B.

Now, if someone does say a band name then the next person gets the next letter.

Here is a typical scenario.

Player 1: Aerosmith
Player 2: B-52's
Player 3: Uhhh... *drink*
Player 4: Cardigans, dumbass!
Player 1: Deftones
Player 2: Uhhh... *drink*
Player 3: Uhhh... *drink*
Player 4: Everclear
Player 1: Foo Fighters
Player 2: Gravity Kills
Player 3: Uhhh... *drink*
Player 4: Uhhh... *drink*
Player 1: Uhhh... *drink*
Player 2: Uhhh... *drink*
since no-one could think of a H band (like Helmet or House of Pain) Player 3 starts at the letter I
Player 3: ICP


...and so on. Now, the trick to this game is once you get to Z you start back over (it's a pretty fast game) but you CAN'T say the same band name twice.

Replace bands with video games and you are set.

You could also do movies, cars, historic battles and diplomatic figures!

I used to do that at work with some of my other collector friends, but we had video games be the catagory. We would use Genesis, 2600, arcade, or whatever. It's fun. When we exausted games we went on to make up terms for throwing up and other crude things. It was very funny what you can come up with.

I kinda got off the drinking game thread, but you brought up the alphabet game!

2600 Drinking Games

- Take a drink every time the screen flickers enough to cause an epileptic seizure.

- Take a drink every time your character gets stuck on or inside a wall.

- Take a drink every time your character dies for absolutely no reason.

Bomberman:

1) everyone takes a shot before the round starts to steel their courage

2) suicide? drink

3) die before the walls start closing in? drink

4) winner toasts his opponents with a shot each (that's the handicapper)

Worms:

1) Drink every time one of your worms dies

2) Drink any time you do something "stoo-pid" (that's drinking twice if death resulted, as see rule 1)

3) Drink again if you're out of the game entirely

Kingdom Hearts - Drink whenever a text window is used without voice-over.

Zelda series - Drink whenever you loose a heart or if you find a faery. drink 2 if you had to bomb a wall.

Mario cart series - Drink whenever you are hit with a shell or a status effect. drink 2 if you loose a race or battle.

Super Monkey Ball - drink every time you fall off the track.

Kirby Superstar: 8 Games in One!

One of the games is called Samurai Kirby. Kirby and an opponent (say, Meta Knight) face off in samurai gear. The object is to press the any button after you hear the "whoosh" before your opponent does. The winner clobbers the loser, who takes a drink. It gets progressively more fun because your reaction time gets ridiculously slow the more you play.

To get blind drunk while playing Dr. Mario 64:

Regular & Flash modes: Play until one player clears their bottle of viruses. The other players drink accordingly to the number of viruses they have left. Every 10 left constitutes a shot.

Flash mode is a bit lighter on the drinking, and regular can get out of control quickly-but it's still a terrible amount of fun-especially when you get some folks together who aren't very good at the game.

We can watch the Pac Man Christmas special and everytime a character says "chomp" or makes a reference to pac-land, we have to drink.

Then, we can start adding to that. Like whenever someone says how hot Ms. Pacman is, we have to drink...Yeah, I know, but I don't know what kinds of fetishes the people on this board might have...

Hmmm, not really a drinking game, but, I've always wanted to do this...

Load as many consoles and handhelds up with Pole Position or Bump n Jump or some other driving game and blast Drinking And Driving by The Business on the stereo (lyrics below). Afterwards, I can take the bus home...
