No idea if they're true but Solo was right with his Xbox predictions so give this some credit.
The inclusion of the PPU really impresses me and should make up for the lack of processing power.
Other then that all i can say (in my best Mills Lane impression) is, "Fanboys, Haters. Let's get it on".

a multithreaded PowerPC 2.5 GHz with 256 KB L1 cache and 1 MB of L2 cache (diff from the dual-core 1.8GHz CPU with 512KB L2 cache we heard about before), a Physical Processing Chip (PPU) with 32MB of dedicated RAM, 512MB of system RAM (we heard it would have 256MB of main DRAM before), a custom ATI “RN520” 600MHz CPU with 256MB of RAM (that’s about what we’d heard, but 128MB of RAM). Apparently the device will support external resolutions up to 2048 x 1268 though HD support is still as yet undecided, and it will have 7.1 surround, too.
Intresting stats!

We don't do that here. Nobody here cares about who was first.

I agree. Kind of suprising it can do HD since Nintendo doesn't want to support it. Although things could change. So far i think they've avoided HD because they want us to focus on the controller and the games.

What kind of effect is removing something that doesn't even matter going to have?

If this is legit then I'm very happy with it, especially in regards to the resolution and the sound support.
I've got to say that I haven't been this excited about a piece of hardware since Project Reality back in 94-95. Let's hope that we see an awesome groundbreaking Mario game at the next E3 just like SM64 floored us at Shoshinkai 10 yrs ago.

The thing about the Revolution is that it doesn't really matter what specs it has, this thing is a whole other device, completely different from any gaming device we've had before - it really is a Revolution. However, I don't see it as that, I see it as something that the general household might consider getting as a whole new product, not just a new gaming console - this could very well be the start of something entirely new. I hope Nintendo succeed and it does become this and not just some other game console - I see the Revolution as a whole new product area and not just a game console. The specs of it seem kind of irrelevant to me.

How are you coming to that conclusion Julio III? A controller that is in two seperate pieces (Though I bet most will use the controller shell that will make it like a traditional controller) that can be used to point around the screen is a nice innovation much like the trak-ball, rotary controllers, and steering wheels were, but it sure doesn't seem to be what you're making it out to be. Have I missed some other announcement for the system besides the controller one? I think I must be missing something here.
All it looks like to me is just an innovative controller on a new system, while the possibilities seem more interesting to me than 360 and PS3, its still is nothing more than a gaming console, a new type of controller isn't gonna make it into something more than it is

I hate to say this, but my prediction of Nintendo going the developer-centric route of letting them choose if they want to support HD or not seems to be coming true. I really do think that decision makes a lot of sense.
Too bad it seems that nothing else that I predicted is going to happen.

Interesting. They're still tossing around the idea of HDTV capability, but they are making it 7.1 compatable?
I'd wager a VERY large portion of the comparative population has HDTV, but not 7.1. And those that do have 7.1, typically have HDTV.

7.1 is more common then you might think but i don't know of any receivers that actually support a 7.1 codec. They all just have pre-amp in and i can't see 8 cables for sound coming from the Rev.
I'm sure some developers would love to have the chance to work with it, and it's not hard to bring a 7.1 stream down to 6.1 or 5.1, but if it can't be done in a single wire connection i doubt they will support it.

wow those are respectable. when I first saw the pics of revolution's controller I laughed my ass off but after watching the video I think it definitely has potential.
I want PS3 and Revolution next generation.
