I pretty much grab whtever games I see in the wild if they look nice, are cheap, and I don't have them. So I have games for systems that I don't own, like Atari 400/800 and Intellivision. But I always do it with the attitude of 'Well, at some point I will get one of these". I really hate it when I find systems in the wild but have no games to play on them, so this is a way for me to try to avoid that. When I found a Saturn in the wild but had absolutely no Saturn games to play, it was driving me nuts until I found some.

I've got DMC 2 just because it's part of the series but i can never bring myself to actually play it. Same thing with Aquaman. I bough it specifically because it was the biggest peice of shit of this generation and i swore that it would never enter my gamecubes drive.
I also Have a Japanese copy of D for the sega saturn but unfortunately i don't have a Saturn to play it on.

Bought a boxed combat way before I got my atari
Bought Katamari Damacy the day it came out months before I owned a ps2
I own 4 xbox games and am finally getting my own xbox this week
Bought a colecovision game a long time before I got a coleco
Thats about it, but I've bought lots of games when I know I have a system coming in the mail.

I don't have a Wonderswan Color system, but I do have an unopened Final Fantasy II for decoration. Bought it at an anime convention for one of those end of con discounts. Got it for 15 bucks sealed.
Also traded my GBASP for a PC Engine CD game. But I still have complete copies of Castlevania: CotM (my very first GBA game), Gradius Galaxies, Lunar Legend, and Japanese versions of Final Fantasy I & II and Breath of Fire still in my shelf.

How would you know it's a piece of shit without playing it? Hell, a good number of reviewers didn't even bother playing it, they just paraphrased other reviews.
From people that have actually played it, I gather it's just a sub par beat 'em up.
and anyway, Drake of the 99 Dragons would like to have a word with you.
Edit - I just looked over at my gamecube rack and saw Die Hard Vendetta. Hah. Try playing that game without the auto aim on and experience the most frustrating aiming scheme ever, or you can turn on the auto aim and play through the easiest first person shooter ever. THE CHOICE IS YOURS.
And on topic -> I have a couple of Xbox games I want to play but can't because I don't have an Xbox yet and no one will lend me theirs :(
Edit 2 -> I'll be picking up FEAR next month just because I have to buy every Monolith game at launch, even though my PC won't run it :(

I've had Rondo of Blood for over a year now with no Turbo Duo or PC Engine. I've only played it once, shortly after it arrived, when a friend brought over his PC Engine. I seriously need to get a job before I can drop that kind of dough all at once.
I also have a few Game Gear games, and I've yet to buy a Game Gear. I'm planning to soon, though.
And even though it only kind of counts, I have three US PS2 games and no US PS2 to play them on, but I can pretty much borrow my brother-in-law's PS2 whenever I want (since he lives with us).

Ok i admit i should've said one of the biggest peices of shit of this generation. I played it at the store to make sure the disc worked and even the little bit i played there was terrible.
You save my sympathy over Die Hard Vendetta. What a peice of carp. No matter which way you play the game sucks.
Add P.N.03 to the list of games i can't bring myself to play and my sealed japanese copy of D2 to the list of games i own i won't play. I love the D series. I have to keep that one sealed.

I don't have a Gamecube, but if I see a cheap copy of Twin Snakes like I've heard is around lately, I know myself well enough to predict with certainty that I'll pick it up. Then I might even finally stop putting off getting my own cute lil' Cubey.
Yes. I have problems. (You know you do when people talk about ridiculous cutscenes and completely unnecessary bullettime and it just makes you want it more)

As you all probably know by now, I have a massive collection of sealed games which I cannot play. :( ~ Or rather, CHOOSE not to play.
I have also got a Japanese DC; American PS2; And Canadian Xbox, but can't play any of them as I am far too lazy to bother to go and buy a stepdown unit.
Instead, I usually play any American PSone games on my PC via ePSXe, and I have just ordered a US PStwo so that I can bypass any need for a stepdown to play any US PlayStation games
I also have Final Fantasy II on the WonderSwan Color which I can't play out of the shear fact that it's all in Jappanny!
There's also a few other games I have lying around for consoles which I do not own, but always intended to get. Will soon be adding some PSP, DS, and X360 games to that list while I wait for some decent LE consoles to be released

Ico, Stretch Panic, and Castle of Shiskobobini 2 for PS2 but I don't have a PS2. DarXide for 32x but you have to have a MegaDrive and PAL TV. Bunch of Blockbuster "Outlaw" games but I have no Xbox. Cubivore but I have no GameCube.
Trade bait or eventual Ebay crap, really.

The thread has insanely crazy timing. I just bought 2 Sega ST-V games off of eBay and I do not own the titan board or a cab or a supergun. I bought Steep Slope Sliders simply because it is my favorite snowboarding game for any system, so of course I wanted the original. I also bought Die Hard Arcade simply because the game was really fun for the Saturn, and I have played this game in the Arcade and it is super fun.
I will eventually buy a supergun and the titan board, but until then, I have these 2 games I am just sitting on.
When I say crazy timing, I mean within 5 days crazy timing:
Die Hard Arcade (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6209400515&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1)
Steep Slope Sliders (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6209401227&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1)
I also bought 6 N-Gage games from ebgames.com when I didn't even own an N-Gage. I actually bought an n-gage for 71 on ebay a day later, but I did, in fact, buy 6 n-gage games not having the system.

Right now "games that I own but can not play" applies to every game I own from atari 2600 combat straight up to Xbox Forza Motorsports. Thats a matter of lack of time though.
I can't play Bahamut Lagoon for snes as well as a few other japanese snes titles (can't recall the others right now, the only reason B/H stood out is its box art).
I can't play Lunar's Magic School (forget the exact title). Also some other japanese sega titles.
On a sadder note I CAN NOT PLAY MY US XBOX TITLES!!!!
THE DAMN THING HAS AN AUDIO ISSUE. I have switched cables/tested connection with friends xbox. checked it's not a dirt related situation (opened up the unit, actually my friend did). The discs read.... Anyway, those are the games I can't play :(

I have ET for the 2600 but no 2600 (my boyfriend has one which he REFUSES to hook up)
I have a Ranma 1/2 Super Famicon game but I have not gotten around to "modding" my SNES or SNES Game Genie to get the cart to fit or buy an adaptor
I also have Biohazard: Code Veronica for DC which technically I could play but I know VEERRY little Japanese so I would get messed up VERY easily
Pokémon Green for GB is easy enough to figure out since I'm so well-versed in Pokémon, I just haven't gotten around to playing it.

I have Shining Force III, Mechwarrior: 21st century combat, Android Assault: The Revenge of Bari-Arm, and Mario Bros. and Pac-Man(on the 2600). I can't play them because I don't have the right systems.

I counted the Megadrive games I haven't played today. 10 out of 56. Most of them are sports games which I see as a bit on the crap side, but some I just haven't got round to playing.
As for games I actually can't play. I bought Half Life for the ps2 but it's on a purple disc and my ps2 is 4 years old. I've been having the odd initial DRE where it comes up with the "Browser/system configuration" screen before loading the game, but with Half Life I've had full blown DREs. It's a shame because I was enjoying it.

Dracula (IntelliVision)
Again I don't own the console IntelliVision. But we have buy it, because it looks good and maybe we buy someday an IntelliVision. ;)
N64
Aero Gauge Japanese Sample
The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time NTSC
The Legend of Zelda - Majoras Mask NTSC
Own only a PAL N64, so can't play this Japanese Demo. The both Zelda games are the Limited Editions, so I buy them for my collection. I own too the PAL Versions, which I can play.
Philips CD-i
Zelda - The Wand of Gamelon (Promo)
A Title Sampler DEMOS
I don't own the console, but buy the Demo CD cheap and the other Zelda Promo for my collection.
Sphinx and the Shadow of Set DEMO NTSC (PS2)
Trade it for some other Demos. But I own only an unmodded PAL PS2. So I can't play it.
X-Box
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Soul Calibur II DEMO
Demo Disk Version 2.0, 4.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 & 10.0
and a NTSC Demo from January 2002 Disc #02
Because I own no X-Box. I have play it a bit by a friend who own a X-Box. I have buy it, because I like the old Panzer Dragoon games on Saturn and its a Promo Version. Some other Demos have I buy cheap and the Soul Calibur was a gift from a Games Convention. :D

Donkey Kong for the Colecovision. I don't have a power cord and I can't find a suitable replacement. Yep, I know I won't be playing it anytime soon.
Some strange Super Famicom game called Lady Stalker. Can't play it because I can't read Japanese. Figured it was an action game since it was from Taito. Big mistake.
Gargoyle's Quest 2 for the Game Boy. Again, can't read Japanese. Thought it was Ghouls 'n' Ghosts.
All my PS2 games (10 or 11 games.) They'll play, but thanks to my dog getting tangled in the controller cord and yanking the system four feet to the ground, the laser has started puting these almost perfectly round scratches in the disc.
Myst. I could, but it wouldn't be a lot of fun. I'd rather wait until I can find a NetLink mouse for my Saturn.
Christmas NiGHTS. No analog controller.
Famicom Mini LoZ. I could make my way through this since I know the game reasonably well, but I'd rather play it on the NES.

Currently, all of my Atari stuff. I don't own a 5200 yet and my 2600 has all hookups but no controllers. Oh, and I own around 60 or so games for the 2600 (trading a bunch away, though).
I have two copies of NFL2K1, and also NFL2K and NFL Blitz, all for Dreamcast. I don't know how to play football. I pick two teams and let the AI duke it out while I do stuff like post on DP.

Apart from the language barrier on some of my games, the others that instantly spring to mind are the ones I have no space to play, namely Samba de Amigo and the various DDR games I've got.
Plus there are some that are just too much hassle to set up - the 32X being the best example and the Amiga too.

Gargoyle's Quest 2 for the Game Boy. Again, can't read Japanese. Thought it was Ghouls 'n' Ghosts.
Lady Stalker is a rip-off of Landstalker on Genesis, so that explains why it's not an action game. And Gargoyle's Quest is a spin-off series of Ghouls 'n' Ghosts.
Anyway, I forgot to mention that a good portion of my collection I can't play because it's stored away at my mom's house. Likewise, when I visit family, I can't play anything here, so I never have full access to all my games at once. :(

Can't play the European SNES StarWing game, since I have a US SNES and I'm too lazy to mess around with the lock-out.
I also haven't bothered setting the 32X up. I only have MK2 and Star Wars for it however, guess I'm not missing much.
And a bunch of games that simply don't work in general.
Also, the save battery in my Harvest Moon SNES game died some time ago.

About half of my Saturn imports. I can't read Japanese, and I'll probably never learn how to read it, unless some friendly aliens abduct me and implant the knowledge of it into my brain. I keep hoping that they'll visit me in my sleep and use their psychic kanji flashcards on me until I can read it fluently, the same way they teach it to the Japanese.

I do it all the time. I have this insatiable need to buy certain games -- otherwise it drives me bananas. Then I don't unwrap them (if they're new) or play them. I bought Ape Escape 2, Final Fantasy Tactics, Trizeal, Chaos Field, Vib Ribbon, R-Type Final, The Bard's Tale and Phantom Dust (among others), but simply haven't done more than look at the cover.I tell myself I should either not buy them, or sell them, but if I do the latter then I start missing 'em. :eek 2:

Lady Stalker is a rip-off of Landstalker on Genesis, so that explains why it's not an action game.
I know that now. The day I bought it (nearly a year ago now, I guess,) I asked around on GameFAQs for some info about it. Much to my surprise, someone responded. Now if I can only find Landstalker for cheap....
Gargoyle's Quest is a spin-off series of Ghouls 'n' Ghosts.
I figured that out on my own when I bought Demon's Crest.
I also haven't bothered setting the 32X up. I only have MK2 and Star Wars for it however, guess I'm not missing much.
Star Wars Arcade is quite good, actually, once you get over the TIE Fighters that can fly through walls. MK2 is terrible, but I don't think it's just the 32X version. I remember not playing the SNES version much (nowhere near as much as 1 or Trilogy when I rented them, at least) when I rented it years ago.

Only game I own that I literally don't have the facilities to play is Spy vs. Spy for the XBox -- I told myself I'd buy the system when Rent-a-Hero came out. Still waiting...
Other than that, a handful of Japanese RPGs (though I'm working on making these playable right now), as well as a half-dozen boxed Famicom carts that I can only play on my blurry-ass Game Axe screen. Damn thing resets a lot, too. Gotta get me a real, 100% Famicom so I can get some 4-player Kakutou Densetsu action going. 8-)
Aussie2B: I always thought Ladystalker was part of the same series as Landstalker (as well as Dark Savior on the Saturn and Timestalkers on the Dreamcast). I'm pretty sure they were all developed by Climax, at the least...
I ordered Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow yesterday, but I don't have a DS yet. I'm waiting on that (likely) Mario Kart bundle.
