I'm pretty much going to purchase Tokyo Bus Guide 2 because its so original and so real life... it must be fun.

What other games are there, strictly PS2, so no suggestions like Animal Crossing.

I think you mean Yoshinoya, where you have to fix gyudon beef bowls for the customers one after another. I'd love to get my hands on this odd game.

I saw one where you had to fight a giant woman in a bikini with airplanes and tanks (sorta like Attack of the 50 foot woman).

I must say that Japan is....well....a special place.

Hell, a good chunk of the Simple 2000 games qualify for wacky.

Bikini Clad Samurai Cowgirl chopping up endless waves of zombies? Attack of the 50 ft Woman? a budget release of Densha de Go 3? (YES!) Battle Bomb Poi Poi? (well ok, that one sucks)

ChoroQ is quite...different. In the same vein, so is Road Trip (it helps that they're in the same series :) ). Both are dirt chep, awesome, and quite a bit different from any racing game you've played before.

Magic Pengel and Graffiti Kingdom are wacky and different.

It's European, but EyeToy:Play is awesomely wacky. Seriously, Kung Fu alone makes the EyeToy worth having.

and I'll cockpunch anyone that hasn't picked up Katamari Damacy yet. It's funny that since no place other than EB Games would sell it / preorder it for the first month it was out it wound up being their number one selling game the month it came out. Would you believe those cocksmokers at Gamestop wouldn't even let me Preorder it on the basis that they couldn't preorder "C" titles? Heh.

Oh, and Culdcept. Mmmmm....

I'm not sure if I should be disturbed by what looks like a minigame compilation, Turned on by the strange bikini-clad females, or afraid of the "splaining" I'd have to do when my girlfriend catches me playing and/or shopping for that. Yes, I actually did check EBay to see if there were any copies out there. . . nope, and I cant' figure out what that other word is Super something or another. . .

Hex.
[ Missed out on the DOA extreme Ping pong games too. . . It's for the best really.]

There are a few games in that series that I would buy.

That game plus "Love Ping Pong" scream "silly" to the point that they make great conversation pieces.

"Dude, i own a ping pong game where you can dress your player up as a dominatrix." LOL

Wordimagesoundplay. From ntsc-uk: wordimagesoundplay marks Tomato's first console release, a collaboration with Underworld, Johnny Conquest and Sony Music Japan. Tomato Interactive was born of ex-Antirom staff, famed for their CD-ROM work, forming part of British design agency Tomato. A lot of the Simple 2000 games (close to 50) have been released in Europe by Midas, Agetec and 505 Game Street including Love Ping Pong, the European name is Pink Pong. I actually have a list of most of them if someone is interested in looking up the PAL counterpart.

Defintly release a list of European releases of these games.

Has the polar bear game made it into Europe?

lol, this is almost a sticky-quality thread IMO, this could go on forever, if we make it multi-console.

Anyway, Mister Mosquito (and it's JPN only sequel) are fantabulous games. I was just playing the original last night.

Here is the list I made when I decided to see how many of D3 Publisher's Simple 2000 games that had been released in Europe. Turns out it's quite a few. Blame any JP name spelling errors on the various online stores from which I copy/pasted them ;) . It's not a complete list though as I'm sure I'm missing one or two titles.

Midas and Agetec published games are easy to find but some of the 505 Game Street games can be tricky to find outside Italy or France (or Netherlands).

There are of course lots of other japanese, non D3, games that got a European budget release. For example Buchigire Kongo (Battle Construction Vehicles), Buile Baku (Detornator) or the Assult Suit Valken remake.

There needs to be a budget release of those Simple 2000 games here in the US. I'd buy a PS2 just to play some of those wacky ass games.

I was gonna mention that. Stop stealing my thoughts! LOL

I hear Stretch Panic! is incredibly weird. I've seen clips on X-Play, you have this stretchy arm growing out of your head and in one part of the game there are these HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE breasted chicks and you pop them by snapping their bras.

I LOOOOOVE JAPAN! I am MOVING there! LOL (well, seriously, because my boyfriend is convinced his metal band will be huge over there, and he's probably right)

The game actually isn't that good, all it is really is you walk up to a customer and press the corresponding button floating above their head to serve them whatever meal they want and the audio is you saying"Beef bowl" in japanese and "Arigoto Gozimoshta"(yes I know thats horrible spelling) over and over and over again. I picked it up in a bootleg shop in Hong Kong. Never saw the real game anywhere there though.
