Well here's the story. It just happened last night but has also happened 3 other times before.
This happens to be the auction I just won:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8219491284&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
(There really is no need to say which bidder I'm talking about here)
I ended up winning an auction, sealed snes game, and right after the auction ends one of the losing bidders emailed me asking me if I would sell them the game I JUST WON for a lower amount. It's usually ALWAYS the same excuses! Either one of the losing bidders will tell me they are short on cash, or one even told me they are really poor.
This might be kind of hard to understand, but I'll put it basically here: Say I'm the high bidder on a game for $100 and I win the auction. I'll get an email from one of the losing bidders, asking me if I can sell them the game I JUST WON for $50 or $60, because they didn't have enough money at the time to bid higher on the auction I just won, and that would be the same auction they just lost.
The funny thing about this is, the ONLY time this has ever happened to me was on SEALED GAME AUCTIONS. It's NEVER happened when it's just opened or not new video games, or whatever other item I have ever won on ebay. Only sealed games.
It's just stupid, yeah a person that's in real need of money, or "poor" as they put it is really out collecting sealed games.
When they email me I want to say to them "You must be out of your fucking mind", but instead I just email with "No". That's it.
This happened to anyone ever before???

I think the biggest problem with the internet is : There is no 'Remote-Punch in the nose' button on the keyboard

No, but numerous times I have been contacted by the winning bidder on an item I lost and told that they spent over their limit and if I would mind paying the second chance offer if the seller will go for it.

My follow up response to the people asking this question would be something to the effect of : " sure and let me send you all the money in my savings account as well."
Maybe then they will realize how stupid thier question is.... @_@

Yeah, besides them wanting me to sell them the game cheaper, they want me to do the other work too. They want me to pay for the game, wait for it in the mail, as soon as I get it sell it to them, then me go to the PO and ship the game for them.

I cant imagine somone thinking that would pay off.
Ive never had it happen, but I would want an explination.
dear sir,
please could you tell me why you think I would be tempted to sell you something for less than I paid for it..

I think I would be compelled to reply with, "Sure, but I only accept cash payments."

i e-mailed the guy who sniped me on the only copy i've ever seen of Iron Commando with "you are a horrible person!". i was real upset. i should probably try to buy the item off him at a higher price, but he may have me blocked now </3.

it sounds like the guy should find another hobby besides sealed games ... maybe collecting pennies. check his auction history and start offering him half price on his winning auctions.
