Well to be fair, he doesn't state that the game comes in its original box. At that point its your duty as a potential buyer to email him and ask him that before bidding, if in fact it would affect whether you bid or how much you bid. Moreover, before I even read your post, I looked at the auction, and one of the first things I noticed was the portion of the clear plastic clam shell case right above the game title.

I too looked at the auction first before reading what the problem was. My first thoughts was that The case looked really shiny. Almost too shiny for a SNES box. I know the boxes are printed on a somewhat glossy cardboard stock, but this one reflected the light kinda wierd. So I guess I would have asked questions first, before bidding. If it was for a friend, maybe they should have looked over the auction a little closer, and then gotten you to ask the seller questions.
Is your frined pissed about what they got? You never did state if you were actually offered a refund as the seller said in one of the responses to your feedback. If a refund was offered it would have been easy to avoid this entire problem. I am not saying who is right or wrong or who is being a baby in this case, but it all could have been avoided with a few quick questions. x_x

The game is in great shape and comes with the instructions, Weapons and Armor list, Potions list, Tarot Cards List, Battle and Character List and Case. Game has been tested and works great.
Those words I bolded should've been enough to tell you that the box wasn't right. When he said "Case", that should've set off an alarm of some sort that should've said, "I shouldn't pay full price for the game in this condition, since the box isn't an actual box, but merely a case". Yet you either browsed right past it when you skimmed through the description, or you saw the BIN price and the pic and hit BIN. Don't worry, it's happened to me before, too. Though the follow-ups were indeed a bit childish...

hey man i totally agree this seller was trying to pull one over. For real, no one in the right mind would take a picture that far away if they werent trying to hide something. obviousely and i would be pretty mad too if i got the game thinking it was in the box when it was cut up. but i would have taken a full refund if one offered.
