I have a Gamecube Service Disk that I obtained from an Authorized Nintendo Repair Center. It's in a regular GCN game case and has a printed white and blue cover. The back of the cover has instructions for using the disk and running the diagnostics. It is version number 1.0/03 ...The disk runs normal diagnostics like most of the test carts from earlier Nintendo systems. I thought this should be added to the GCN section. I'd be happy to post a pic if needed. Thanks.

I'll get that in there. If you can either post or PM me the part number (DOL-????-???) and any other specifics (exact name is Gamecube Service Disk I take it?) that would help as well.

The complete title is "Nintendo Gamecube Service Disk Version 1.0 / 03" ...It has instructions for running the tests on the front and back of the cover and also has the normal "NOT FOR RESALE" printed in a box at the bottom of the front cover. The part number on the disk is DL-DOL-301E-USA. The model number printed directly below that is DOL-006(USA). Also, on the back of the case, where the part number is usually printed is the number 50060A. I don't know why the part numbers do not match like normal, but the version numbers do match and I know for fact that this is the case it was in when Nintendo sent it to the repair center. The disk actually runs some pretty neat color and graphics tests. I'll try to get you a pic later tonight after I get home from work. Thanks again.

Was there any other info you need on this disk? If so, just let me know.

No, that should do it. It's already in my file so the next time I send it in and there's an update you'll see it.

Does anyone know if there are any others besides "1.0/03"? I guess I'd expect there to be "1.0/01" (or just "1.0") and "1.0/02" discs too...

I've never seen one of those before. Good find! Was it expensive? Do you have a picture of what's on the TV while its running?
That's really cool :D

It was in a lot of stuff that I bought from a Autorized Repair Center that went out of business. It just runs some normal diagnostic tests on the GCN. I'll try to get some screenshot pics and post them.

Just received today myself actually, cost...? All of $5.
Sadly it doesn't seem to want to boot up on my Cube. Maybe cos it's a switched Japanese model, I dunno. I have one other US Cube game that refuses to boot in US mode. Maybe I'll have to take it over to the US when I see QoF next...

I'd be happy to test them for you, if you wanted. As long as you pay return shipping for the two discs. ;)

I might get a chance next weekend, just try running it on a Freeloader PAL Cube and see what happens. If it still don't work, then I might take you up on the offer. But of the 500+ Cube discs I have, these are the only two that refuse to load... they are recognised fine, but you just get a black screen after the Cube logo disappears :/

Just as an update, I took the two discs that don't work on my Cube to Jon's place at the weekend (the guy with the NES Fist proto). FIFA 2004 worked fine on another switched Cube, so I guess it's just mine being a bit funny with that game. However the Service disc didn't boot up either. Maybe it only works on real US hardware?
(as both mine and the other Cube were Japanese models modded to also play US)
