Genesis case questions

How many games were released in a cardboard case?? and th ecardboard slide case?? is the rarity different?


i just keep seeing these cardboard cases for games i know had plastic ones when i was a kid, and i got some real crappy one piece cardboard ones (jungle strike), i was just wondering if they released these in a plastic case.

I'm not sure I can fully answer your question, but I have a copy of Jungle Strike in a thicker than average plastic case... I didn't know it was released in a cardboard case.

I'm pretty sure sega switched to carboard late in the genesis' lifespan (I want to say '94?) as a cost saving measure. So yeah having a cardboard cased genny game isn't that unusual.

Sega started it for some of its later released titles (i.e. Sonic & Knuckles), also all Majesco re-releases had the crappy cardboard cases.
