The blu ray topic got me thinking, someone said most games don't use a whole dvd, which is certainly true, but I know there are some the take MULTIPLE DVD's.
I'm not talking bonuses of ANY kind. Just flatout, in order to start and finish this game, you need to use 2 dvd's. Gamecube games would have to be 3 or more discs long to qualify I suppose.

The only one off the top of my head that I know of would be Star Ocean 3. How many others are there?

Isn't Xenosaga 2 DVDs as well? I could be wrong, it's been a while since I've played it.

Technically, Growlanser is two games (Growlanser II and III). It is two discs, but I think the original intent was to find out what games actually use two discs.

But, if I'm wrong:

The .hack series includes an anime DVD with the game, so it's two discs. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and Phantom Brave both have limited edition versions that include a CD soundtrack.

A few of these are just double disked for the hell of it.

Don't tell me they honestly couldn't have fit 2 Metal Slugs, King of Fighters or Space Channel 5's.

Metal Slug 4/5 are 2 seperate games. It's like buying a dual game pack in one box. They are on 2 disks though. 1 metal slug per disk. I think that it is a CD though, not a DVD.

I've been told it was on 2 DVD disks.

I think it would be cheaper to manufacture one dvd disk instead of 2 CD's though.

Space channel SE is 2 discs, 2 different games, doesn't count
Same with growlanser, and anything mentioned with a soundtrack, along with anything that's a cd. My god did someone not read the main original post?

They are definitely on DVD discs. I figure they did it for the same reason they split up DOAU into two discs. It just looks better to the consumer and it means they don't have to write a selection menu. Metal Slug games are only around 300 mb each so they could probably fit on just one CD, but that's not the case.

All Xbox games come on dual layer DVD. There's a specific way that data has to be layed out on the disc overwise it won't meet the copy protection standard. Or so Xbox-scene has told me.
