I remember hearing about this near E3 and then it no-showed.. but it looks like it may be popping back up. Let's hope so!

Metroid Dread?
Apparently that is the title of an upcoming DS game from Nintendo. The game was first mentioned in Game Informer magazine, but has since vanished from the gaming world. Word on the street is that news of the game was released too early by accident, and Nintendo is holding back the reigns now. It looks like the title is true, and there is another 2d Metroid game coming to the DS. For now Metroid fans can rejoice, but you're probably going to have to wait awhile to hear anything more on the game!

Didn't Metroid: Hunters get pushed back to 2006? So who knows how long from now this game would get released. :/

The game's name probably won't remain Metroid: Dread. It will probably become something like:
Metroid: Deadly Stuff
Metroid: Dreading Something
Nintendo and everyong has been using that goofy "Game Name: D____ S____" that I doubt they would make it Metroid: D___.
And really, just Dread? It doesn't fit in with the other Metroid titles like Prime, Zero Mission and so on. It sounds more like a Resident Evil subtitle.

I really didn't need to say that twice, now did I?

Sweetness! Can't wait for tight-lipped N to tell us more about it. About the whole DS naming scheme, Metroid: Deadly Samus, came to mind. :)

I heard the correct title was "Metroid: DreadS" and was going to feature a calypso & reggae soundtrack. There was something about a mini game that used the touch screen to change Samus' hair style as well (French Braids, Pony Tail, etc).

I think they should just call it "Metroid: Da Shizznit." That works.

I'm with Daniel! It could also come with a voucher for a free bucket of Popeyes Chicken :) Sorry, the Adam Sandler ref couldn't be contained... :embarrassed:

It looks like (http://www.revo-europe.com/news.php?nid=8331) Metroid Dread has ceased to exist. I suppose three Metroid titles for the Nintendo DS would have been too much to ask for :(
