I bought a Saturn on eBay recently, but the seller forgot to mention that the lid was broken :/ And that it was a really dirty system (I had to have a vigorous cleaning session). That said, the lid on the system closes and opens, and the system does work, but I think a hinge is broken. How should I go about fixing this? Will I have to (gasp) open my system up to fix it? Does anyone know what parts a Saturn needs to be opened up?

What does the hinge do that is wrong?

There are just 5 regular screws holding the top of the Saturn together, none of the screws are hidden under any stickers.
remover the 5 screws, and gently lift the top of the Saturn off.
Make sure you do not have a disk inside first :)
also of note, a couple of the Saturns that I have opened, have the power supply mounted on the 'lid' of the system, as well, I have found the LEDs also mounted on the lid.
I would not be too concerned, as you will most likey be able to leave everything attachec so that you can determine the broblem with the CD lid.
My guess is the spring that opens the lid just needs adjustment.

Let me know if you need a replacement lid - I have several Saturns that don't work, and would be perfect for your situation...

Thanks for the help, Logicdustbin, I have opened my Saturn and discovered the problem. It has now been corrected.
Also, SuperShark, that was unnecessary.
