do you think it would be possible for nintendo to offer english versions of classic games that were never released in the US? what games would u like to see available? I'd like to see any old fire emblem games, the first earthbound game (mother 1), doshin the giant, and many others.

I'm sure they are able too, but can just about 100% guarantee they won't.

They're exploring their options and they've talked about releasing updated games for download so it's entirely possible that we might see some new translations of popular inport games, especially if thrid parties get involved. You can bet companies like Capcom and Square would translate some of their japanese exclusive games for download on the revolution.

Yeah, I got one:
"Nazo no Murasame Jou/Riddle of Murasame Castle" for Famicom Disk System.
Plays just like Zelda, but set in ancient Japan.

I'd like to see a release of
"Radical Dreamers"
in the original format, just translated to english

I highly doubt Nintendo is going to release unofficial translated games. I also highly doubt that they are going to translate them. It would be sweet if it happened though. I would love to see an offical translation of Seiken Densetsu 3 or Bahamut Lagoon.

Which begs another question. If possible, how long will it be until we see the download system hacked so we can download unofficial translated games [among others] for free?

Now that is something I see happening.

If anything, though I know it's highly unlikely, I'd like to see Nintendo have a system of sorts where people can upload their own homebrew NES or SNES games onto a server, where others can download them for free. Obviously, Nintendo would have some sort of control over the game content, but I think it would be a great way for homebrewers and aspiring programmers to share their work. Not to mention, if a game became very popular, Nintendo might actually make a deal with the programmer and make it an "official" download release.

Tampering with liscenses that other companies have? their copyrights to release them? That's a no no in the business world and would be quite a problem for anyone who want to do that. The only way people get away with it now is because of how we get them now. Do you really think that it would happen? :hmm:
