In case some of you couldn't tell by my screenname, I am an attorney. I work for firm of 9 attorneys, plus about 45+ support staff. You would think that by that definition we are a bunch of stuffy people. Not so. We are a pretty young group, and our boss is a great guy. It is a great place to work.

Well, the other day, Tuesday to be specific, I walk into the lunch room to buy a soda from the vending machine, and lo and behold there is a "Multicade" Video Game Machine in the corner. It has about 24 games on it including:

Pac-Man
Ms. Pac-Man
Jr. Pac-Man
Super Pac-Man
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
Donkey Kong 3
Moon Patrol
Centipede
Millipede
Missile Command
Super Breakout
Arkanoid
Space Invaders
Phoenix
Frogger
Dig Dug
Mr. Do!
Sinistar

and more!

Oh, and it is set on freeplay. :D

I was completely surprised. I never thought he would buy something like that. So now whenever I walk in the lunch room for a coffee or soda, I get the itch to play a quick game. I feel kinda funny playing a game when someone walks in, but hey that's what its there fore.

Never knew my boss was a retrogamer.

Just another reason to go to work early and leave late I guess.

No Asteroids? Quit, I say! :)

That rules. Had we one of those at my job, I'd get nothing done.

law school here i come...

seriously. i took the LSATs a few months ago before i graduated... this makes me a little less scared to apply to the schools. Nice to know it isn't all suits and quarter-hourly billing. :)

i think things like that make emploees more productive

my compnay wants slaves and slave pushers - the president hates the idea of having "a country club"

my friends company on the other hand has a bunch of video games and foosball and you can spend as long as you want in there as long as you meet your deadlines -- and guess what - everyone completes thier work on time

That's pretty slick. You should call the videogame companies in your area and get them as clients. ;)

The other 4 games that I missed were Burgertime (my personal favorite), Crystal Castles, Galaga and Galaxian.

Now if I can only get them to turn the difficulty level on Ms. Pac-Man.... they have it set at super fast/hard.

My manager likes to play the psp sometimes at work and I'll sit down with him as well while on the clock. Those are the best days of the week ;)

i am the advisor of a game club at a college i teach at...

We (advosors or students) game at least once a week...

i have a small museum of functional and connected systems and games in my OFFICE with my NES toploader and Halo xbox there for gaming... at a moment's notice!

We have the most fun when playing on a 20' (foot) LCD projector...split screen works on that well... or for lan parties...

it is Very important to feel comfortable in one's work space.

GAME ON everyone! 8-)

interestingly enough I periodically do projector play at work...but most of the time I'm playing games on a dell 20" flat screen monitor that's mounted on the office wall.

we stick to ps2 and occasionally a xbox graces our offices.

Absolutly no work would get done if i had that in my office, I would either be playing it the whole time or be drooling over the beauty of it LOL

They finally got rid of the Ms Pac/Galaga game at my work, & put in a Donkey Kong/DK Jr/Mario Bros. machine.

Mario Bros (not Super) is one of my all-time favorite arcade games- the first time I ever saw it years ago, I told myself "I will beat that game." & I got pretty damn good at it, IIDSSM.

So, I had fun playing it at work, when all of a sudden, one of the LAST GUYS I ever thought would like video games, comes up & says he likes the game too, & that started off a little discussion about video gaming in general!

So we played a little co-op, & then had an ongoing High Score contest. It went back & forth a bit, but now he "owns" the machine, w/ a high of around 375,000 IIRC.
