What the title says.
Can I put super famicom carts into my U.S. Super Nintendo system Game Genie and play them?

Hmm, I'm pretty sure you can't. However you could always just cut out the two back tabs in the SNES's cartridge slot and play Super Famicom games that way.

still wont work due to the lockout chip
and not all games will work since the game genie doesnt have full pins (not the extra pins on the sides of the connector)

Yes, you can. Just break the two tab things off of the Game Genie, and you have an SFC adapter! It works for me, anyway.

This method is correct, and also the aforementioned tab-cutting method is correct, as long as it's the SFC games you're wanting to play (note that some are a bit more picky than others...Star Ocean and Super Mario RPG come to mind). For playing PAL SNES games on an American system, I recommend a Pro Action Replay (PAR 3 for maximum compatibility, if you can get one cheap).

Thank you for verifiying this, I would much rather mod a game genie that I got for 3 dollars than hacking up my SNES.

Get a Pro Action Replay 2 aka PAR2. It is far better than a SNES Game Genie because the Game Genie can only modify a game's ROM values, while a PAR2 can modify both ROM and RAM values of a game. The PAR2 can use more codes at the same time too. There are also code converters that translate a Game Genie code into a Pro Action Replay code.
Oh and a PAR2 can be used to play Super Famicom and European SNES games on an American SNES. The main reason why you don't have a PAR2 is because it wasn't heavily marketted or sold in the USA, but it was very popular in Europe. There are actually two versions of the PAR2. You want the later one, which includes the pins for FX chip games. Search on Ebay USA, Ebay UK, or Ebay AU for a PAR2. They are easy to find and worth having in your collection.

It's always worked for me. I live in US and obviously am using all NTSC, if that helps.
