September 30, 2005 - Hudson is no stranger to the retro gaming bug, with GameCube and PS2 having already seen remakes of classics like Star Soldier and Tengai Makyo II. Now the company is preparing for its most ambitious retro gaming plan ever: a set of six Game Boy Advance titles featuring some of the biggest Japanese games of yesteryear.

The series is titled "Hudson Best Collection." Here's a look at each game and the content contained within:

Vol. 1: Bomberman Collection
Bomberman, Bomberman II

Vol. 2: Lode Runner Collection
Lode Runner, Championship Load Runner

Vol. 3: Action Collection
Challenger, Meikyu Kumikyoku

Vol. 4: Nazotoki Collection
Nuts & Milk, Binary Land, Salad no Kuni no Tomato Hime

Vol. 5: Shooting Collection
Star Force, Star Soldier, Hector '87

Vol. 6: Boukenjima Collection
Takahashi Meijin no Boukenjima I, II, III & IV

Most of these games originate on the original NES, although some were Japan-only. The games in Volume 6 are known as "Adventure Island" in America.

Hudson will be scattering these releases over the next few months. The first two volumes will arrive on 12/8 to be followed by the 12/22 release of the second two and the 1/19 release of the last two. Each game will carry a 2940 yen suggested price tag.

These collections are only planned for Japanese release.

i think i might buy the shooter collection, and i will be buying the adventure island collection.thats really cool it has all 4 8-bit adventure island games.you know,i always wonder why the 4th adventure island game never made it to the states, maybe it was because everyone here in the u.s. was concentrating on 16 bit by the time that game came out.

Definitely will pick up the Bomberman and Adventure Island collections. Not sure about the others, yet.

Lode Runner re-issued by someone else? Cha-ching!

(You know it's an exec because they're using outdated slang.)

Seriously, this is some nice news-all four NES/Famicom Adventures Island games is a good thing, and if the Bomberman games have game link compatibility, that would be a must-have if we saw a US release (not likely, I know).

Remember guys, a PSP can run NES roms, there's really no point in buying these if you have one.

Meikyu Kumikyoku is also known as Milon's Secret Castle. Yummy.

Sorry I don't feel like spending 40.00 to import a few NES games I already own. I'll buy em when they hit 5.00, like I do with almost all my games.
