I got an N64 with 2 expansion packs and 5 loose games for £10. I've been looking for an expansion pack for a while now.
Not bad considering I could get about £7 for trading in the console, and expansion packs alone cost £10.
The games are:
Top Gear Rally
Super Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Diddy Kong Racing
Pokemon stadium

Bah. No one wants my new N64. Gamestation already have 4, my local shop doesn't take consoles if he's already got one and the other shop near me only really sells current gen games, which I'm not too interested in at the moment, so there would be nothing to trade it for.
Anyway, while in gamestation I got
Daffy Duck in Hollywood (£2)
Zoop (£2)
Megagames 3 (£2)
Back to the future 3 (£3)
They were BOGOF so it came out to £5
When I got home I realised BTTF was for the master system, which I don't have. D'oh. Oh, well, I have to start somewhere.
I just remembered, from during the week
Fantastic Dizzy/Cosmic Spacehead £4
Ecco the Dolphin £2 (free with BOGOF)

On an EB run, I got the following:
007: Nightfire (XB, PH, complete) - $5.39
Armored Core 2 (PS2, complete) - $5.39
Big Mutha Truckers (XB, complete) - $5.39
Room Zoom (XB, complete) - $4.49
And a special bonus surprise, Area 51 (PS2, complete), for free!
The guy who rang me up was talking so much about his Xbox Live addiction that he mistakenly threw in a copy that someone had just traded in. Well, I consider that free game karmic payback for (a) me having to listen to this associate jawbone about himself and (b) never receiving my $20 mail-in rebate after the Paper Mario fiasco. I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about...

I went to some sales this morning. I really didn't find much game-related stuff other than:
An Intellivision with Donkey Kong, PGA Golf, Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack, Armor Battle, Space Armada, Space Battle, Space Spartans, and Astrosmash all complete in okay condition for $5. I also got a LeapPad for $1. I got one more thing which isn't all video game related but I really want to share it. I got a box of comic books(there must be at least 100!) from the 80's. In the box, there are Teen Titans, Green Lantern, Spider-man, the Outsiders, ROM, Omega-Men, Micronauts, the Thing, the Incredible Hulk, and a lot more kinds of comics. :D I got the entire box for $7!

finally ordered Armored Core 2: Another Age and Silent Line: Armored Core today. Hopefully they come in this week.
After I beat Sly 2 (hopefully today), I plan on starting up Armored Core and finally playing though that series. Partially because I've always wanted to play it and partially because I'm trying to play through all of the games i own right now before I buy too many more, though that Buy 2 get 1 Free deal at TRU is going to mess me up good tomorrow.
Probably going to pick up 9 games at least :(

Pick-up from the Goodwill the next town over. "THE SMART Clapper" was sealed so I broke it out to try it. Man, talk about the height of lazyness! Works pretty well... now I get to act like that old lady in their old commercials :P
Unfortunately the F1 race is missing the actual game, but everything else is included with baggies... 2 bucks for a box, 4 player adapter, and manuals isnt too bad I guess :/
--a tad off topic--
Looking for a digital camera? I have a SONY Cyber-Shot DSC-P20 for trade in my thread HERE. (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=806893#806893) It took the picture above, as well as several more in the link provided... [/shameless plug]

Recently, I stopped over at Goodwill in Oshkosh WI. My original goal there was to find furniture for my new Dorm room. Instead, I found a virtual boy.
Now, I don't know how to decide the rarity on this particular one because it is *special*. This one is attached to the 3 foot retail store stand. It has the key (to remove system from stand) and all the ads still in near perfect condition. On the top is a big red 3d sign that says "Virtual Boy". When you plug in the stand, the light on the sign turns on and reflects itself over and over to look 3 dimensional.
Also, with the system came Red Alarm: the demo version. It is in good condition and still works. I just checked DP's rarity guide and it sais this game has an 8 rating for rareness. Also, DP thinks it is worth $100. I just crapped my pants typing that. X_x
So, if anyone knows anything about the worth of this entire setup I have could u let me know? I don't plan on selling it but Im curious to see how good of a find I landed. Besides, it makes a hell of a decoration for my room!
****I THINK I POSTED THIS TWICE ACCIDENTALLY. MY APOLOGIES IF I DID.****

hi-res version to read titles :) : http://64.159.77.51/~helmet/perkar/finds/051001hires.jpg
this comes with a tiny bit of a story.... i got this all at a local thrift here, one that i frequent at least once a week... i've found some decent stuff in the past, but it's been pretty dry for the past 6 or 8 months. i usually just head in, check out their bins full of crappy $3 loose genesis and 2600 games (everything else seems to get snapped up), and head right back out.
yesterday started out the same as usual... head over to the bins, find same old shit. about to leave when i see a box on the ground just below the bins. it's nearly closed, but i see the edge of a couple NES carts inside... so i open it up. i see exactly what's in the picture. look at a few of the carts, pick up the top loaders... no prices on anything. i grab the box and take it to the register to inquire about the price. the cashier says that he cannot sell it to me because the guy that prices the electronics isn't in, but will be the following day (which also happens to be the monthly 50% day). he won't take down my name to keep it on hold, but he does take it off the floor and sets it in the back.
my problem: i have to work in the morning, AND 50% off days are busy as hell... two strikes. solution? i call work and tell them i'll be in around 11, instead of 9 (thrift opens at 10).
talk to hezeuschrist about this, and he decides to join me this morning. we head up there around 915am to wait in line (which is smaller than usual, for 50% off day). finally the store is opened, and we head in. box is still not on the floor. finally find the guy in charge of the electronics, but he's simultaneously helping 4 people. when i'm finally able to have a moment of his time, i tell him what my situation was yesterday, and let him know that i'm stil interested in buying them. he tells me he hasn't had time to test them, that most of the NES's he gets in don't work anyway, and to come back around 2pm. i know that i'm not leaving the store without these things, so i tell him i'll purchase them as-is. he goes to the back, is back there a minute pricing everything out, comes back out and says i can take the entire box for $120 (since it's half off day, it actually comes to $60). i don't hesitate when i tell him i'll take it. \m/ \m/
exactly what i got....
2 toploading NES systems
2 dog bone controllers
2 regular controllers
1 max controller
1 snes controller
1 nintendo rf switch
54 NES games
1 genesis game
1 earthworm jim for snes manual
not a bad haul at all for $60

Strangely enough, these guys actually got in a slew of atari games. Usually I don't even BOTHER with this store cause it's such shit, but I got damn lucky for going in this time:

2600 - Tapper (loose) - 2 (SWEET!!)

Just picked up an Xbox along with Dai Senryuaku.
Then i stumbled on Gundam: Federation vs Zeon and Bujingai, so I picked those up to. I hope Gundam doesn't suck (from what I've heard here and elsewhere, it's the best Gundam game released in the US). I guess once I get done with it, if I like it, I'll import Lost War Chronicles.
Bujingai, on the other hand, is a game i've been meaning to pick up for a long time now. I damn near imported it at one point, but the annoucement to publish it in the US came out and thankfully saved me a good bit of $$. Now if only Oz would get published in the US :(
Tomorrow I'm hitting up TRU and then I'm going back to laying low for a while.

YES! Bubble and Squeak!!!! I absolutely love this game! I grew up with it on the Amiga and ive been looking for the Megadrive one for a while now... No sign of it on eBay, however it was in a shop in Leeds for £4.99...
Quickly snagged by me :-P
Behind the counter too, my retro trained eye spottted something Megadrive related...
Here were some Accolade trading cards, featuring Box Scans of the Megadrive games...
I got these free with my B&S buy, however i know nothign of these cards!
Quite Nice though...

Incredible, a parcel from Japan arrived in a mere 3 days via EMS! I was impressed!
This is my first buy with my Student Loan this year
Most students spend it on alcohol, but with me being Straightedge i have better things to spend it on... I.E. Japanese Imports!
I found a secret eBay shop selling PC Eninge and Saturn games for Buy It Now of 99cents each!
Needless to say, i bought 23 items between $1 and $2s each...
Without shipping, the lot above only cost £19... Shipping however was £40 ($70) @_@ @_@ lol
Never the less, its tough to get PC Engine games over here cheap, and i wanted to boost my collection a little with some sports games and the odd other game...

Today I got a GBA with Super Mario Land for £13. Not a fantastic deal, but I was pleased with it. The only other one I've seen was for £30. When I got home I realised it had a face plate on it, which seems a bit of a hindrance.
I also got Super Hang On and Micro Machines 2 for Megadrive for 50p each.

I've kind of drifted away from spending for the past month, but I'm back today with some new finds! Small, but sweet (sorry, pics rather blurry, but you can make out the games):
http://img331.imageshack.us/img331/6286/im0003198cy.th.jpg (http://img331.imageshack.us/my.php?image=im0003198cy.jpg)
On Friday a parcel arrived on my doorstep. Inside it were:
Bangai-O (DC) :D
Mars Matrix (DC) :D
Both are like new. My SNES finds were from the flea market today. I thought it was going to be another bust, but at one of the last tables a guy who usually has a stock of games got a few new SNES titles in. They were $5 each, so I held back from buying much, but I did take the good ones I didn't have:
Double Dragon V (SNES)
Ogre Battle (SNES) @_@ @_@
I almost shat my pants when I saw Ogre Battle. I've wanted this game for so long but could only find $35 + dollar copies for the PS1 at game stores. Now I got a 0 load time SNES origional!!!

Just one find this weekend...
A complete and working Atari 5200 POP Kiosk! It's dirty and partially disassembled for moving, but I'll have pics up soon.
:eek 2: cool! What did you pay?
I didnt think anything could beat the double top-loaders...
It cost me $400 and about $70 in gas to bring it home. Had to drive from Dallas to Oklahoma City to get it. Well worth it though. Not that I've started cleaning it I'm finding it's in very nice shape! Pics will be coming as soon as I put it all back together. Hopefully in it's final position as it's HEAVY!!

Damn! Nice one James! What colour GBA is it? And by SMland, do you mean the clasic GB game or the GBA game under a different name?
Awesome, Caut. Great Normy find in particular. You have some seriously kick ass boot sales.
Cheers... Yeah i was pretty psyched for getting Normy dirt cheap! I was dreading it later on closing in on the last few titles...
What was the shop you got the 20p games from? You told me ages back and there is one near me, but I seem to have forgotten the name.
That would be Computer Exchange (CeX) in Leeds :-P
Ive pretty much wiped out the Leeds Branch of Bargains, but im sure the other branches have old stock to remove...
Okay, final find of the day... I promise!!! No more photos till another day :P
Basically my Dad has sold his Computer Graphics company so we need to clear the place out...
While helping out today, i came across this:

Nothing this weekend, gamewise.
I did however find some EGM magazines. #'s 2 & 3 (#2 is in mediocre shape. - one of the sets of pages ripped off the staples. #3 is in good condition - a few creases on all the edges). - $5 for both.
It's so weird seeing how EGM has changed over the years. They gave Mega Man 2 all 8's in issue 2!! That game so deserved at least all 9's seeing how it's the best in the entire Mega Man series.
Basically, I Spent all my video game money on an Ipod Nano. So no games until next payday.

PS2:

Total - ~$75
Now if only I could dig up a non-GH Onimusha so I could actually play through this series.

Bought 11 2600 games for 6 bucks at a local thrift, all crappy common games except the one I bought them all for, Time Warp.
Time Warp
Space Attack
Asteroids x2
Star Raiders
Swordquest: Earthworld
Word Zapper
Berzerk
E.T. The Extra-terrestrial
Infiltrate
Freeway
I don't even really collect 2600 games, I just knew Time Warp was kinda rare.

Not much for the weekend. School has me so swamped that I didn't even realize that We Love Katamari came out @_@
I may need to postpone buying it a little longer so that I can finally take the plunge on a Zelda GBA: SP. Toys R Us UK ships to the United States, right?
Anyways, I picked up from EBGames:
SNES light gun - loose - $8 (looked like a blue pistol. First one I've ever seen in the wild)
blue PSX EA Sports controller - $0.99
Sonic Heroes - ps2 - $17.99 (for my cousin)
If anyone is collecting DC or PS1 controller variants, drop me a PM. The EBGames has like...50 different ps1 controllers and like 20 different DC ones. Most of them are $0.99 too.

Made it to a couple of stores this weekend, nothing too exciting, though I found another vectrex game I needed from the same place I found four vectrex carts at last week. Still no sign of the system :(

$1.00 for the vectrex cart - clean sweep :)
$1.00 for the m&m's handheld game
$1.40 for the boxed bb game
$0.80 for the board game
I also picked up a box that had a couple of video cards in it for $1.80, later I noticed it had a complete copy of XP home edition, not a bad deal!

I'm betting at least 10-20x more than what you paid for it.
You can probably get $300+ for it. Nice find by the way. I have the smaller store display myself.

I seriously doubt anyone will believe me when I tell you how much I paid for that Virtual Boy. The cart, the stand, system and all: $10. I walked into the Goodwill and I see this thing in the corner of my eye. My first reaction was to pull out some smoke grenades, grab the VB and run. There were TONS of people in the store at the time so I thought that a brawl was very likely to occur.
After I picked up the VB (at least 60 lbs), I took it over to a nearby outlet to test it. Then this 40 yr old employee came over and said something to me about the system: "Yeeah I been tryin' to gets rid o that peice of crap for 2 months. Been sittin' in storage for years!" :eek 2: I just walked away. I didn't want to build up a criminal record based on something like that.
So, some of you guys said that I'd get like $300 + for this? Well, since I have been finding other stands similar to this on the net, I'll post some pics soon to let you guys see this particular one. Also, do you know guys know anything about the games Mario Clash and Wario Cruise? These were 2 of the games listed on the side of the display case that I had never heard of before.
