So does anyone hang out around say the Detroit area? You know go to someones house and jam on some games? Sit around, hang out, and talk about games when not playing games?

I had met a couple of local guys in the spring at the arcade and that was cool but just wondering if anyone out in SE Michigan ever hangs out on the regular.

Sorry, I'm at the Tip 'O the Mitt. I hear that there are gatherings in Ann Arbor from time to time.

I hang out at Robotron's place on a regular basis-he runs game nights just about every Friday. It's mostly fighting games, so the fighting game community in the area is primarily who goes, but if you're into that, or Magical Drop, you'd probably have fun.

Well, we can always organize another arcade meet that isnt at Pete's or something. I dont really get sick of that place, but I understand others do and would like some variety. I'm up for anything, as always.

Like you said, this far in advance, I dont think that it really matters. Any weekend would be good, saturday or sunday.

Weekends are always best for me so I'll be there.

So, meeting sometime during "christmas break" is outta the question?... Winter sucks, I know most people would not be able to come, especially if weather was bad, but having only 5-8 people like last time was pretty dissapointing (kinda makes you not want to show up) :/, so I dunno.....

Hey, let me know I could do it anytime! I live in Macomb Twp.

Well, I dont know what the deal was with that one. Not a lot of people realized it was happening, and others just flat out weren't intrested. I think the sooner we decide everything, the more people we'll have show up.

So what do you guys want to do. I'd just like to get somewhere and just hang out and play some games and just shoot the breeze. Something cheep and easy. No need for money to spend on arcade games, lunch, parking, and whatnot. Something simple. Hell we could do something like this several times a month and then once in a while get together at a place like an arcade or whatever. Usually every other week I have a few friends come by and we just chill and play some games.

I'd like to meet and get to know some local gamers around the area. Thats all. New friends. Folks who like to hang out sometime and do stuff like game hunt at all the local spots, hang out at the local arcade, sit around someones house and play Twinkle Star Sprites. This is the type of thing I'm trying to get started.

Well, there are several arcades around my house, one being CJ Berrymores and the other being D&B. Dave and Busters might be fun considering it has a good bar/food.

Just curious, when was the last michigan meet?

Another place that might be of interest would be a place like gameworks, at Great Lakes Crossing, or the American fun center over there by Oakland Mall.

I'm up for anywhere but I know Ann Arbor is like an hour drive away for me. And a place like CJ's or Dave and Busters has gotta be an hour away from Ubersaurus and Mr. Food Monsters secret lair.

i hit cj berrymore's and dave and busters every now and then... but they have no character. pinball pete's is worth the hour drive, trust me. i'm not too big of a fan of american fun center either.

i just wish pinball pete's would get their goddamn gun mania fixed.

Another arcade in the area is "Galaxy" on Gratiot north of Masonic across from Macomb Mall in Roseville. I haven't been there in some time, but last time I was there I had a good time. It's smaller than Pinball Pete's.

Marvins mechanicam museum is what youre thinking of. Its out somewhere like telegraph and northwestern highway. We had a "meet" over there, um, spring 04? That sounds about right. Its quite a quirky place.

I guess I could vote to meet at Pete's again. Its not too much of a hassle, and it was fun last winter, although not too many people showed up.

Anyone else?

another bonus about pinball pete's: panchero's is right next door, home of the greatest flour tortilla shell EVAR. it makes me drool thinking about it.

Prob with Petes is the fact that it's where we've done meets like, nearly every time. Gets old.

There is a gameworks in great lakes crossing(with house of the dead 4 AND mario kart arcade), which should be noted. There's also an arcade in Flint with Mario kart arcade, though that's probably out of the way for your average SE michigander.

I'd prefer to do a meet in someone's place, to tell the truth. Much more convenient for trading and suchforth.

This is more or less at what I am trying to get at. Also I don't want to do something like this like once or twice a year but more frequent like once a month.

BUMP!

Bringing this back up to see if there is any interest in getting anything going.
