Hopefully this is the right forum to ask this in:
I have a 27 inch Gauntlet Legends Arcade Cab and in the upper right corner there is about 8 inches of green on the tube for the cab. Whenever my kids use the blue warrior, he turns green when in this area. Would a degausser coil for tube TV's fix that this issue? I want to make sure before spending money.
Also, when I first turn it on the colors seem dark and then after it is running for about 30 minutes it seems to brighten-up. The Greens, like in the forrest region, you cannot even see and it looks almost black. But, after awhile it brightens up. The rest of the picture once warmed up is perfect.

Probably needs a degaussing, and you can do it with any strong magnet. Read up on it, you can do it with a good power drill. No need to buy a coil to only use it once.
Yeah, degaussing should take care of the corner (unless it's actually damaged), although I don't think I'd try it with a real magnet... I've done it a couple times and it's really tough to get right (you can get it looking pretty good pretty easily)... and you can permanently damage it if you get it too close. And I'd be surprized if a power drill could do anything for a 27" monitor... I've got a small degaussing coil (like THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com/Repair-or-Fix-Your-TV-CRT-Degausser-Degaussing-Coil-NEW_W0QQitemZ5812725135QQcategoryZ3320QQssPageName ZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)) that barely works on a 25" (but works well on a 19"), but my large coil (like THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com/TV-Picture-Tube-Degaussing-Coil-Repair-Screen-Degausser_W0QQitemZ5815377708QQcategoryZ3320QQssPa geNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)) works great on 25+.
Oh... and about the colors taking forever to brighten up... the tube probably needs to be rejuvenated, which most TV repair shops can do (but you should call them and ask for a price since some are reasonable, others are a rip off).

Thanks for all the info! I bought a Degausser Coil for 27 inch TV's or bigger last night:

Hopefully this works, he offered a money back guarantee so I figured why not. I will let ya'll know!
Thanks!

My brother in law placed a strong power drill on his 32" Vega and it wonked the entire top third of the tube. A strong drill should be able to do it easily.

The Degausser worked for the Green. I am going to have to get someone to install a Cap Kit for me for the monitor taking a while to warm-up and the colors becoming brighter. I have no soldering skills, so if anyone lives close to West Palm Beach wants to earn a few extra bucks installing a Cap Kit, let me know! Thanks!

I forgot the following information on my Monitor:
NEOTEC
Model No.: NT-2701
AC Rating 110 - 240 VAC
50 - 60 Hz 18A
Date: September 1998
Thanks!

Installing a cap kit is not hard, but it does require care on an older monitor. The chance of breaking an old solder joint in a random place on the chassis is a good one. I've done it myself, and then you have to just poke around reflowing everything to try and find it.
