Wait, DW is a 3D beat 'em up. Are you saying it isn't?

DWA is more of a fluid beat 'em up like the Goemons or River Ciy Ransoms, rather than the more precise Streets of Rage or Double Dragon. Enemies fly into each other, and you skate around quickly rather than progress slowly with a vigilante's saunter. In DWA you can face/attack in 8 directions, rather than just left/right. You collect weapons, fight thousands of enemies and get to try out a turn-based movement method.

The bigest shock is the map and how you move in turns. Having a gaint field to run around in would have been nice, but technically, it would have been very, very difficult to save-state that with a GBA cart. On top of that, having hour+ long playing sessions would be kinda demanding. The turn-based thing allows you to save every 2-5 minutes, so short or long gaming sessions are possible.

I'm glad I got it, but I'm a big Dynasty Warriors/Koei fan. (I got it back in March. Unless they're radically changed anything in the US release, I feel it's cool for me to comment in this thread.)
