Red Ring in Adventure of Link?
A way through SMB World -1 via a secret path (ala the later dungeons).
Hidden screen in TMNT?
I assume these are all bull, but discuss...

Is this stuff for real? I am too lazy to figure it out for myself.

I remember reading about the "red ring" in Zelda II and that it was definitely a hoax.

Yeah I just tried it and it didn't work.

The Turtles one is real. I found that myself long ago and so did one of my friends, both on our own way back when the game was still fresh. I have doubts on the other 2 though.

"Rainbow World" in SMB... when I was in grade school/middle school the thought was that you could get there via a glitch in level 4-3 I think it was where you would jump on a bullet just right and it would form a rope you could limb up. Anyone know about that one? I have never seen it documented on the web, but used to be able to reproduce the 'rope' from jumping on a bullet just right back in the day, probably could now with a bit of practice... my guess is that it is just a glitch now and that there is nothing you can do with it. :(

Hmmmm...don't think I've ever heard of it. I'd love to hear more if you could post some instructions and pics.

Will do, I'll have to fire the emulator up and give it a try in the next couple of days and see if I can still do it...

Did a little 'research'... it isn't in level 4-3. I'll have to play around and find the level it is actually in.
Edit:
After a bit more looking at some maps this is either in 3-3 or 5-3. I think it is in 5-3.

These were discussed a few times before. The outcomes were that they were fake. It was mentioned somewhre that they were indeed fake. Can't remember where it was though.

If I am not mistaken, those SMB ones might be from the FDS version of SMB, or at least inspired by it. See http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=63785 .
The "Red Ring" thing could easily be disproved with an appropriate text editor, I suspect.

I'll try again some time later in the next day or so but I swear I've at least witnessed the turtles one if not done it myself. I remember laughing when I saw it, because I couldn't imagine anyone losing a turtle on the first stage.

I just tried too and had no luck either... The description is very brief though... Also i walked back after trying to make sure all the Ninjas were dead and there was one down on the layer below that i couldnt reach...
However there could be like a V1.0 and V1.1 of the game with this taken out the latter...

I honestly think there's more to it, like, only use one turtle...or skip a certain building, or something.

OK, Until someone can provide some proof that they actually did the trick on TMNT, I'm calling BS, because I just tried twice and it didn't work.

Did you make sure to kill a turtle earlier? If there's no one to find it shouldn't work. Other than that, I'm not sure what the issue is. I still haven't retried myself though. I have to get a hold of my brother whom is borrowing all of my Turtles games.

Well... off to go play it and see if this works. ;)

I'm inclined to believe that one of these is real. Based on the "Fact or Fiction?" image at the bottom of each article. I'm guessing the writer is doing a video game parody of the tv show that shows you three improbable vinettes, and you have to guess which one is real, and which two are false.

Alright I got a hold of my brother and he's going to brin my cart down so I can investigate. If I don't check it out by the time I go to work tonight I'll look into tomorrow morning for sure. Also I don't think this should matter but the guy's picture is using Donatello to find Michaelangelo.... I really dont think that's the key, but ???? try that.

Too late, already tried that as well. I've spent way too much time with this and I'm now tired of trying. :(

As mentioned, I'll get on the case myself soon, and try to figure out the issue.obviously there's something specific that isn't listed, so if and when I reproduce it, I'll give a very specific account on how. I just hope I can get it to work again. I may have to call up my friend Dave, whom I think was the person who showed me.

The turtle tricks must be fake. I tried it now. Even tried to kill 3 turtles, still nothing happend. I also walked back and forth until there were no more footclan soldiers comming, then I killed them, still, impossible to go to the right.
It also says
Make sure ALL of the foot clan fighters have been killed before proceeding forward
How is this possible? If you kill all and move alittle to the left again new footclan soldiers will appear.

I wouldn't be surpsied about the SMB one. I remember getting all these weird levels when I typed in certain Game Genie codes... kinda like -1 in the fact you couldn't beat them, but more than just a glitchy level 1 anyways

Yeah, the Super Mario game for FDS had an extended minus world.
