Do you know if Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for $30 is for a new copy or a preowned copy? I don't buy used Nintendo games when you can register them at nintendo.com...

It's brand new. And imo, there have been much better deals on it.

I'm probably going to go for X-Men Legends on the Gamecube and the B3G1 preowned sale.

Thanks for the heads up.

I'm just curious and not in the least trying to turn this into a retail chain trade in ripoff head bashing thread.

What is the normal trade in value for a working GBA, GBA SP, GC, XBOX or PS2 respectively?

Thanks in advance.

Best Buy had Paper Mario 2 for $10... well if you were in one of the two stores that actually participated in the sale and didn't hide these on the day of the sale.

I'm bumping this with an update on another EB sale running Oct. 14 - Oct. 30. See the first post for details.

The classic sale was (is) great. I just cleaned out my local EB. The guys there think I'm crazy (why would a grown man buy a copy of Beauty and the Beast on the Genesis, if it's not for his kids???). Well I bought it, it's on the path to a complete Genesis collection.

The info I gleaned from the EB staff is that this salle marks the end of classic games at EB. They no longer take them in trade and will soon be out of them forever. This is because they are adopting Gamestop's policies. They will also end the sale of used PC games soon (look out for a Nov. sale).

They also said that most of EB's CEO's are getting walking papers, and that they may be getting a name change come January or February (probably at the end of Gamestop's fiscal year).

Going to miss the classics and used PC Games. Ebay, your my only hope...(R2 reprogramming)

That pisses me off. GameStop is now hacking away at classic gaming, making it harder to collect older games...

Hmmm...sucks that none of my nearby eb's carry old games anymore =(. They cleared em out a few months ago. DAMN!!! Shoudl have bought that complete Thomas the Tank Engine on genesis when I saw it. Probably woulda been laughed at but oh well! Thankfully I have Bookman's for my old school fix. Only that and thrifting now....it's crazy how much classic games have disippated over the past two years....I used to be able to find em all over at any gamestop, and three retro gaming stores have closed in that time period....the only one left is REDICULOUSLY expensive.

Meh. I'm not going to shop EB anymore now that GTA:SA has prompted store managers to tell me that EB will not carry A.O.-rated games, contrary to what I was originally assured.

I buy my games direct from the publisher, which saves me since I don't have to spend extra cash on EB's retail costs. Besides, I don't want to support stores that promote censorship as to which games their customers are allowed to play on the basis of ESRB ratings.

That's got to be a store-by-store kinda thing. Our EB still sells the AO GTA:SA. They don't keep the boxes on the shelf, but behind the counter. They still sell it, though, is what my point is I guess.

Hmm.. Well, the managers of 3 of my local EB branches llied to me about what the company's stance is on game censorship. Not long before GTA:SA's development, I was assured that EB would not refuse to stock a game on the basis of its ESRB rating; I was promised that the store WOULD carry games bearing the A.O.-rating so long as EB was confident that the games would sell in sufficient numbers.

Perhaps I should report those managers to the big shots behind EB.... (Not because their policies differ, but because they lied to me about what their policies toward ESRB ratings were)

Woah. Looks like my wallet make take a bit of a beating this coming week. Jak III, Killzone? Oh yes. Anything else I can get my grubby mitts on? It's mine. :-P
