Saturn:
I got a saturn off ebay to play some games for old times sake. The thing doesn't turn on, I thought the power cord could be bad, but luckily the power cord is exactly the same as the PS2's. I switched cords and the one that came with saturn works for the PS2. Both cables are good, both won't give power to the saturn, any ideas on what's not working?

There could be so many things wrong... But can someone maybe outline a few likely possibilities?

i would think that first off open up the system and see if it power supply is dead, it could even be the switch. test them with your meter (you will need to have it powered up for this remeber to be carefull). also check for breaks in the board (also look for burns in the boards) if everything looks good there then you will have to take it to a pro to fix...

there is a fuse on the powersupply pcb.

also, I have noticed, on most of the Saturns that I have opened, the connector that the power cord plugs into; cracks have been found where there screws hold it in place, perhaps if someone were to plug and un-plug the system on a regular basis, this could cause damage to the solder points for the power connector.

maybe Xbox should have a re-call on the power cord :P
