I read this last week in the paper zine - It's mostly about the Media Bistros that he's working on. After reading the article, I can say that I'm intrigued by the concept behind it. I wasn't sure how it was going to work before, but I think it's a neat idea, and I wish him all the best with it.

But the return of Pong? :hmm:
And I found a mistake in the article. It's well-known that Steve Wozniak never worked at Atari...

i wasn't all that hot with the idea of the places originally, but a little more description from the article makes it a tad more intriguing. i like the idea of the 'waiterless' at-table ordering setup, and if they can make their 'trivia games' as addicting and goodplaying as the NTN network stuff, then it could be interesting

That's basically why I find it intriguing. Not so much because it's Pong all over again, but because the concept is great. I always play that stupid little peg game thing at Cracker Barrel or whatever other restuarants have them - you know the one where you have to jump pegs until you only have one left - and it always ends up being passed around the table as a challenge/conversation piece. It's a goofy game, and if you know the pattern, it's really simple - but it always has everyone laughing and talking. It's sort of a similar concept with the Media Bistros, and a concept I think could work if done well - and that's why I'm intrigued.

Steve Jobs was an early employee of Atari. When he was assigned to work on Breakout, he enlisted his buddy Woz, who then worked at HP. Woz would sneak in at night at Atari and work on the game with Jobs. However, even though Woz is technically the co-designer of Breakout, he didn't do it as an employee of Atari, since he never actually worked there.

And as we all know, Jobs lied to him about how much he was being paid to do the job.

Thank god that is the only mistake, now I can go do the hot coffee mod on Grand Theft Auto 2. LOL
Still a good article, can't wait to try out a media bistro.
